I accept a complicated past. Ancestors at Gettysburg and Antietam. Great grandfathers at Marne and Bellau Wood. Grandfather at Guadalcanal. Uncle at Hue. Brother at Fallujah.

And then this great merciful nation of ours welcomed the misguided conquered South Carolinians back with open arms to enjoy the subsequent 150 years of unmatched opportunity, economic prosperity, and championship quality football*. We are truly blessed to live in such a wonderful country.

*in the upstate anyway.

So you’ve never been in North Baton Rouge?

Tuscaloosa gets a bad rap but it’s not a bad place if you enjoy outdoor activities.

To the OP- I’ve been to almost all the SEC cities for games (not Columbia, MO or SC, and not Lexington)

Athens and Nashville are the best SEC cities.

Our players are surrounded by beautiful scenery and the greatest lifestyle available in the United States.

I had to go to College Station a couple years ago to conduct some business with the transportation institute that is there and while there was nothing particularly wrong with the town that I saw but I also didn't see anything that would cause me to describe it like that.

Beautiful scenery and greatest lifestyle? Uh, no

Correction: we don't allow people to tread upon war memorials. One of which includes some grassy areas.

I did not go but I know plenty of folks that did; my parents took some things down, the last time they would make a trip like that before my father got ill and they both said that while the damage was very bad the people there were great and very thankful.

Recruits don’t want to go to a military school with no attractive women.

The only thing I liked about College Station is that the town literally revolves around A&M, and that the campus itself is basically on an island.

And for the most part College Station is a nice, safe town. I only ever went to Bryan for Jose’s Mexican food, and late night beer runs to the Kroger. Don’t go to Bryan lol

I’m doing my masters at UH and god the campus and the area it’s in is downright depressing.
