Apparently. Peeps forget he has been doing this for 35 years, so he knows a thing or two. And believe it or not, people do learn from their mistakes. He was at Miami during their hay day, and USCW during their run. He knows what Championship teams are supposed to look like, and don’t forget his best gift of all....recruiting. Imagine what he can do on the recruiting trail after showing consistent success on the field

Listen, Jimbo sounds like a frickin redneck too. Lots of coaches have accents here in the SEC. the issue has never been his accent. That’s not a telling sign of someone’s intelligence. My issue was his overall record as a HC before LSU. He seems to have progressed greatly, though. That win Saturday was unreal.

Regardless of IQ...I appreciate his talent evaluations and his in-game management of situations. He handles the clock very well...it is refreshing.

IMO getting Burrow and a few others in the off season was huge. He clearly can motivate. LSU has more talent than all but 1 or 2 teams they play each year. I am not sure why people think O won't do ok.

He has talent and his players play hard for him.

That is enough to win a lot of games.

But dont get crazy, he is not a master strategist either.

If LSU had shanked that last fg, or any 1 of about 10 other plays in that game Saturday had gone differently, perception could be totally different today.

If Big Ed can win big this year and convince those talented recruits from his state to stick the LSU instead of signing with other schools then he may just turn the corner....oh and he has to sign QB's from outside his state........can you feel me.

That’s true in many games. LSU could have also had a 17-21 point lead early on if “other plays had gone differently”.
Certainly O is no match versus Gus.

Dont be a stupid arse.

LSU won by 1 point on the last play of the game. Either team could have won that game Saturday. And if had been AU perception would be much different.

But Auburn didn't win so your point is purely hypothetical. LSU played better when it counted

Not really. LSU was 10.5 point dog. If LSU had lost it would have been seen as a near miss, a valiant effort etc.
no doubt it could have gone either way.
I’m surprised by the win.
Regardless, the narrative has been that O is a moron and doesn’t know football. That’s bullshite. He has identified what LSU has been lacking and is addressing those things. Time will tell if Ensminger was a good choice but O is not the same coach he was at Landshark U.

Call him what you want, but he got this team to bounce back from 3 unanswered touchdowns to play a dominant series of football in the second half. That is not an easy task.

Tiger N Miami is correct as are you. When you win you are a genius, lose and you are a fool. Support flows like a river on each swing of the pendulum. That’s why it’s so much fun to read these boards after a game! No one is stopping Saban until he retires period. He will lose a few but not many. He is the Bear Bryant of his time. It is what it is!

Meh. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. I look forward to that fight.

Since the start of the 2017 season only three coaches have three wins over top 10 teams

Nick Saban
Urban Meyer
Ed MF O!!

Many people mistake dialect for intellect. They are the ones who are not as smart as they think.
