Is the National Inbred Flag white? If so, you can "wave away"

He's absolutely the most qualified coach we've hired at the time of his hiring. Is he Nick Saban? No. No one else is, but based on his resume he should have success at LSU.

You may be right, because unless I miscounted, this Notre Dame websight lists him #16

He says, after a quick Google search and providing a link that only counts through Kelly's first 4 years, where he also conveniently ignored this little nugget:

quote:

Kelly ranks 10th among Notre Dame coaches with a . 729 winning percentage, but he's fifth among coaches with at least 100 games coached at the school.

Could be the best coach since Arnsparger. Those were some of the hardest hitting defenses I believe the Tigers ever had. Dinardo had the task of trying to bring back the magic. Saban was just getting started but we know the rest of that story.

Interesting story, until you hear something a little more truthful:

quote:

“I picked Alabama because I grew up watching them dominate,” Benson said. “I’ve always said to myself, if I ever get the opportunity to play at Alabama, that’s the place I’m going to play. In my room, I had on my whiteboard to get offered by Alabama.

“I think Alabama is Wide Receiver U. I feel like every year they produce the best receivers and they always have the top dudes. It was a no-brainer. As one of the top JUCO receivers, that’s a place I’ve got to go.”

“After every visit, I’d feel good about the school,” Benson said. “I’d be like, ‘That’s a good visit, but I’ve still got Bama.’ It was always like that gut feeling, like I knew I was going to go to Alabama. Just talking with the coaches on the phone, I always had a different feeling when I’d get off the phone with them.”

Frankly, he sounds remarkably familiar to a couple of Alabama's 2022 recruits. Almost like someone on Alabama's staff is asking players to badmouth other teams. Maybe like, I dunno, somebody that gets on camera and bitches about another team's NIL recruiting.

Bryan Kelly is probably more accomplished than Coach Saban when he decided to take the LSU job.

LOL.

Maybe or Maybe not as time will tell. Your last 3 HCs all one a title which Kelly has not.

Kelly has also had the easiest of any HC to get to the playoffs and yet failed every time he got there.

The SEC is a lot harder season to navigate than what he had to do at ND. A national brand but yet could not find success for a title.

And before someone throws in it is easier to recruit at LSU than ND that is not true. ND like many other academic prestigious schools give exemptions for athletes.

Now the fact the last 2 HCs won a title, based on that alone Kelly should but it still remains to be seen can he sustain the program long term. On recruiting talent alone he should get 9 wins a season but how many years before people in the Bayou get tired of the SEC West version of Mark Richt?
