Is Bobby Petrino really the best coach in the SEC?

Bobby's at a school that is hard to recruit to.

Arkansas' past 6 recruiting rankings on Rivals.

2005 - 26 - Nutt
2006 - 27 - Nutt
2007 - 31 - Nutt
2008 - 36 - Nutt / Petrino
2009 - 16 - Petrino
2010 - 49 - Petrino
2011 - 24 - Petrino

This guy is winning without top talent. I know he hasn't won the SEC yet, but I don't think Saban or Miles could do what Petrino has done if they had the Arkansas job or the same average of talent.

Well, he is a lot better than Chizic.

Don't you have an IB to flap your gums about, or have you conceded that already?

Some rivalry.

your neighbors are. you think Miles only recruits Louisiana. He steals players from Texas, Georgia, and Florida on the reg.

don't blame everyone else because your coaches have been shitty recruiters

I said before the season i thought he was the best pure coach in the league. Hard to argue with Saban and Miles ability to manage elite programs, but i'm glad Petrino is at a school like arkansas and not auburn, tennessee or georgia.

I think he is a top 3 coach in the country, and you could shuffle those top 3 and it wouldn't be wrong.

Being a good recruiter is part of it though

Petrino is a good coach, but he will have his biggest task this week, and it does not involve the game of football.

Seeing the tears in BP's eyes last night sort of shows you how close coaches are to their players. This will certainly be the biggest challenge Petrino has faced as a head coach.

He is in the conversation. If they winthis week they should be ranked number 1. You are number 3 and beat number 1, you move to number 1. The question is Bama or LSU number 2.

how is he not a good recruiter? because his classes aren't ranked high? they are mediocre in ranking but its obvious he finds the right guys to fit his system and win games, isnt that te sign of a good recruiter?

OSU wasn't some elite program when gundy took over and it took a few years to get his guys in to replace what miles left over

then, he brought OSU to the best era of its football program
