Is Bo Nix Malzahn’s built in excuse?

I get that gatewood is a rs freshman, but was naming nix the guy a way to build in an excuse for Gus. If he has a 7-5 season and nix struggles, but also shows some signs of talent he can say, “well we’ve got a young qb that’s going to be around for the next three years and the upside is great”. I believe a scenario that has nix struggling some, but showing some signs of talent and fitting well into gus’s systems retains malzahn the job even with a 7-5 season.

Quite the contrary. This is Aubies year with what they lose on defense and OL (which is the real question mark of the offense). 2020 is a guaranteed rebuilding year for them., so All In on 2019.

Don't be a retard. He will have no excuse. He understands well he is needing all the top and best on the field. Grow up son, and stop playing on the swings, because that one just face planted you into failure.

I think Bo will be solid unless Malzahn ruins him.
If Gustav wants Bo to run a lot, it won’t go well. He’s athletic enough to scramble and run some, but he’s no Cam.

You are right , he couldn’t say that with a RS Freshman.

LOL lip, now you're evolving into an Auburn fan. Maybe you're just hedging yor bets. Further are you exerting influence at Auburn too. It's a known fact how much weight idiot posters like we all are (especially us retirees) throw around on the big corporations that college football programs in the SEC have become. But that's the thing with these boards they allow idiots to think they are involved.
Hope you enjoy the season and don't take this stuff too seriously. Bama will have one hell of a team this year unless they run into the same kind of bad luck with injuries they had in '17. The usual depth is not there like it has been. But then they may drop off a bit for a year. I agree Auburn is set to make a run for it but I'll be a believer when they beat a healthy Alabama in November. Georgia and Clemson are getting ready to take off, Clemson already has. Kirby and Dabo. That shows you anybody can make it in the USA because neither of them are candidates for the mensa society. Kirby because he is sitting on a gold mine recruiting and has taken Georgia to the top talent wise and Dabo brought major league SEC type recruiting to a triple A league and made them the only show in town. I wish, BTW, we could open with Clemson this year. You talk about a butt kicking. I can assure you Clemson wants no part of that.

Honestly I think he WILL try and play that card but it won’t work. Barn fans are tired of him, I work with 2 of them and they’ve wanted Malzahn gone since Jeremy Johnson disaster

With Gus at the wheel what could possibly go right??? I meant wrong, what could possibly go wrong?

First it’s the schedule we have guarantees us a 6-6/7-5 type season and only the defense will keep us in games. Now, it’s Nix is a built-in excuse for a 7-5 type season.

The better question is will Bo return for senior campaign after a 45-0 record with 3 Heisnan Trophies?
Lube up, SEC!

I tend to believe he will work out for Auburn. With their defensive talent and believe they can have a good 9-3 or 10-2 year.

Nix can play. Today many Freshmen come in ready to play. He will make mistakes, but if we have a bad season, it’s on Gus. Gus has no excuse in year 7. We were going to start a Freshman either way this year.

Auburn could have a good team and still go 7-5 with the schedule it has. That said, Gus is playing with the QB he chose and the roster he assembled. He has no excuses.

Gus is the master at using the youth excuse.
“Just give me 2 more years with Bo, we’ll get there”

When you negotiate for top 5 coaches salary, you have given up all rights to having excuses.
