Pretty sure you're in a different mind state from last week too.

Objectively every fanbase has a group who overreact. I have been a supporter of Gus, but after the LSU issues I at least understood the negative thoughts because the stats supported concern.

IMO the 2015 and 2016 loses to uga were the greatest issue. Arguably we were a better team both years and lost both games. I don't really think 2016 is arguable. Those loses combined with LSU 2017 had pushed our fanbase to the limit.

Anyone with common sense knows that Auburn won't devour every good team like it did uga last Saturday, but the play calling and intensity was needed to remind us our coaching staff is capable. The uga OL Saturday had the same issue we have had in most all of our big games the last 3 or 4 years. They simply were getting manhandled. For many uga fans Chaney probably looked inept, but the reality is you can't run an offense when the OL is getting its tail handed to it in that fashion. The last couple of years, since Champ, our D has been good enough to keep us in those types of games, but the frustration of losing them was boiling over.

Hope to see ya'll in a few weeks.

Actually he is right except for the Stidham and Kerryon comments. Auburn has been pretty consistent with liking both players, for good reason. But you guys have called for Gus and Jacobs to be fired earlier in the year. (Right after your losses)
In fairness, that happens with a lot of fan bases after bad losses. However, they kept the score close with Clemson, even with the 11 sacks, and LSU is not looking to be as bad a loss as it appeared for awhile.

Yep. It's funny how a bad loss can change a persons perception of their team. In this case, bad loss meaning how Auburn dominated, not saying Auburn is a bad team.

LSU wins this hands down and I think most would admit it. Auburn showing tendencies but no official diagnosis. That said even if Bama somehow manages to pull this game out Gus had a very good year and does not deserve to be fired. His team plays very hard and they are very talented.

To be fair, you just described most college fanbases. With the exception of wanting our coach fired, do you not think there are Alabama fans who wanted Hurts benched for Tua... and then Saturday happened and everyone is talking about he's one of the best QBs in the country?

It happens. Happens at UGA too.

I imagine that if AU loses to Alabama this year, but wins their bowl game, Gus is fairly safe. Lose to Alabama and their bowl game, and they might think the UGA game was more fluke than anything else. Trip up and lose to LA-Monroe and Alabama, then their bowl game and that win over UGA will be a distant memory.

Lose to LA-Monroe, beat Alabama and win the SEC, and AU fans will be understandably confused as how to feel, but probably fairly okay with the conference title.

Jay Jacobs has been incompetent for a fricking decade and we’ve wanted him gone for a looooooooog time. Gus, while putting it all together over the weekend, has stepped on his dick more times than anyone cares to remember. But the rest of that post is crybaby we got our arse kicked bullshite

Those losses weren't why we wanted Jacobs' arse gone.

Jacobs is being fired and that is good. Gus had a great game and might be making the necessary changes. Or, he may have just gotten over on a less experienced head coach. Gus has been consistently stubborn for several years now and has cost us a chance to win multiple big games. This one win is a step in the right direction, but I'll wait to see how things progress before it affects my big picture view.

They are here good times and bad. People say that shite about every fan base and it’s just not true. The regulars stay and Auburn has a lot of regulars.

We fired JJ, Gus played relaxed and happy as if he wanted to stay at Auburn. Coincidence? I think not... When you work for a shitty boss it affects your performance.

Can someone put Gus' picture here...

He is really tough to figure out. There are times he is a head scratcher and times when he looks like a genius. When his offense is working...look out. Then he pulls out the whirleybird thing.

He’s still getting fired

Not because of football, though. It was how everything fell out everywhere else. It some ways it seems unfair....but he is over the entire athletic program, and is ultimately responsible.

Did I say otherwise?
Everything you just said backed up what he said......(Except for the Stidham and Kerryon comments which I also pointed out)

This is a weird way to cope with "your" school getting embarrassed. But anyway:

Not true:

quote:

True:

quote:

fire Gus, fire Jay Jacobs now,
