No. Weakest defense of the Saban era and struggling to run the ball. When/if Bama loses, it will be because of those two reasons.

When your coach is a perfectionist that's married to his job, and has recruited top #2 classes for nearly a decade, this is what you're gonna get.

That would be the 2007 team. Or even the 2010 team

Edit: on top of that, we've given up 2 TDs in the first half all season. 20 points total in the first half. And I know that our schedule has been fairly weak, but most of the points we've given up have been in the 2nd half when our 2nd and 3rd string D is in the game.

EVERY single time the world has anointed a team prior to the end of the season "BEST" they wind up stumbling. For the love of God, let this thing play out. They could be or they could be that team with the exception of that one arse whooping LSU could deliver as retribution for our NC debacle.

2003 OU team comes to mind. Best team ever.....only to have KSU whoop that butt then they ran into us in the NC game. 2 losses to end the season.

Our 2011 season, only to have BAMA not allow us to cross the 50.

You get the point.

It's only appropriate to have these conversations post NC game.

Ridiculously early. They may wind up say 10-2 and then lose a bowl game with 3 losses. Their schedule is back loaded with a trip to Baton Rouge, State who came within an eyelash of beating them last year and whose new staff should be catching traction. And AU who has a hell of a defense and whose entire self worth is tied up in beat Bama. All in Nov. They have killed a pitiful Ole Miss, a middle of the pack ACC squad, and hold a 3 TD victory over the Aggies with a new coach and who almost lost to Arky last week. Their defense has questions in the secondary and is not the same stifling outfit at this point. And the kicking game is a typical disaster. We shall see.

Don't misunderstand my post, I'm definitely not saying they're the best ever. Can't say something like that until the season is finished. I'm just saying it's not the worst defense we've fielded in Sabans tenure. Our first string defense has played really well. It's our 2nd and 3rd string that's giving up a lot of the points.

214 yards per game, and 29th in the country with backups playing the entire second half of most of the games. 5th in scoring defense

Probably not even our best all around team. Not enough depth and experience, especially at DL and LB.

Two of our best LB's haven't even played this year due to injuries.

Tap the brakes. We haven’t played anybody. Good, yes. Best of all time, not yet. Bama has not had a thrilling Qb since Namath, Stabler and Scott Hunter.. That was longggg time ago. We have had managers till now. Tua possibly is in class of the above mentioned. However, let’s wait till Bama really plays someone and Tua gets tested. I’d say that will be LSU and Auburn in November. Bama lays down 50 and keeps these two under 20 then yes, I might annoit them GOAT.

Roll Tide.

2007 LSU is not in the conversation, they lost to two unranked teams. Shouldn't have been in the title game to begin with. Probably the worse MNC team EVER!

I have no idea how this Alabama team will be measured by the end of the year, but due to a fairly pedestrian offense, the 2011 LSU team wouldn't be in the conversation of best ever.

even excluding the 21-0 loss to Alabama in the title game
