Oh really? I feel like you're dead wrong. The reason I feel that way is because you are.

They move the line to even out where the money is flowing. The money comes from "the public". Therefore, "the public" moves the line.

The idea is that "the public" are squares who have a day job but like to thrown down some football bets. The sharps are the pro's who pounce on opening lines with lots of cash when they see a bad number.

Cool story bro.
It's not a story, bro. If anything, it's a parallel, or maybe an allegory, or maybe an allusory parable, or perhaps a fable, if I throw in some mysticism, like a Cupid Shuffling Saban, hypnotizing the crowd like a real life music box dancer.

Like a magic little gnome in a Cosby sweater, making all the men moist and all the women want to be men.

Like a man who would predict the death of bitches by a prick...a story of yore...

Sharps betting this game =

I can PROMISE you I know as much and in most cases more than every "sharp" alive as it concerns this game.

People thinking "vegas" knows something in a game like this are retards. A hard core knowledgeable AU or Bama fan knows more about this game than any supposed sharp in vegas.

I sure as HELL know I do.

Is he talkn about "card sharps"? Not sure what a card cheat would have to do with football lines.

Might as well be. The "vegas sharps" and their supposed knowledge is way overblown. People always talk about where the sharp money is and how the public is "square" money, but the distinction between the two is more myth than reality.

True.

But every now and then, when the money piles in on a particular bet, a little slight of the hand on the line is just liable to put a dollar or two on another option.

The option the "sharps" want the public to take.

Mights be what's a happenin' here?!

Nah. Line has moved 1 point. Not that significant.

I got 300K down on Bama. We might need a QB in the next couple of years and I want to be ready.

This is your expert?

I would put that right up there with Corso picking us, which he didn't.

Wrong.

Also, the line moving about 30% is substantial.

I see Auburn winning his game to be honest. Ingram and richardson could blow up. Newton seems to much for anyone. This public pressure could bring him down.

I guess. He is an analyst for ESPN...but I'm unsure as to who is in the expert category because it's proven none of them are ever right 100% of the time.

Craig James picked us on BCS Countdown in the section where the other guy is supposed to say he disagrees if he does. Robert Smith didn't disagree (he is an idiot, though, so TIFWIW).
