That’s why in a 16 team format the first round is usually all pretenders that passed through to get there.

The BCS era was the golden age of college football - the two best teams. This playoff thing will keep expanding into oblivion. It’s silliness. There are teams that just shouldn’t be competing for a national championship.

what team would have done better against Texas than Clemson?

Clemson almost got it to within 7 points with 7 minutes left. Couldn't convert a 4th and short on the goalline.

The battle cry of the overpopulated 12 team playoff format...

Many years 4 was too many. Tripling the field was retarded.

Tennessee I think you have to put in, but the seeding was f’d. Conference realignment has really destroyed things. At this point you have to let the SEC and BIG scoop up any decent schools left and cut the rest out. You are gonna get blowouts even with better seeding, just the nature of sports.

It is showing me the home team has a huge advantage. Every team has earned their way into the Tourney.

The last 4 are there to milk another 4 game weekend out of it. The games themselves are pointless.

Nah. How many times did number 2 beat number 1? Plenty. That means they did really know who number 1 was. Do you really think they did better knowing who number 2 and 3 were? No. Eight teams would be enough to capture the real contenders. But, why complain about more college football as it's set now?

Ehhh...

Sure, there are teams that will get blown out.

But they still earned a chance to compete.

Weird shite does happen when someone is given a chance at greatness.

I, for one, got tired of seeing the same teams get a chance every year. This at least gives us an opportunity to have something different.

Occasionally you get the Boise State beat Oklahoma Cinderella moment, now we get to see it have significant impact to the rest of the tournament. It’s what makes march madness great. I think 12 teams is a good stopping point now, I was for more teams, but not after this weekend lol.

If it was 16, then we could have seen South Carolina go on a rampage.

They should have been given a chance. No other team was playing stronger throughout the year.

But they didn't do enough, and so got left out.
