He also almost lost to Miami Ohio and did lose to south alabama years into his HC gig

let's stop pretending Dan Mullen is Nick Saban. Grow a pair and admit it. Yes Dan Mullen is a good coach and will likely keep UF in the top 25. I'll gladly eat crow if you guys ever make the playoffs which i don't think will happen. Maybe when Dan is 65.

He did a great job at State for being at a below average SEC program.

I agree that Mullen did a good job at State, and I expect him to consistently have 9-10 win seasons at UF. He's a good coach.

At State, he averaged 7.5 wins a season, and his recruiting was unimpressive, but hey that's all we can expect.

Our new coach won 8 games his first year, and has a recruiting class that may be better than any class Mullen ever had at State, certainly would be in Mullen's top 2....why are we supposed to miss Mullen again?

Oh yeah, our team will probably take a step back this year, thanks to Mullen's poor recruiting in 2016 and 2017.

Y'all sure were singing a different tune last summer. "10-2 is our worst case scenario."

And plays in one of the weakest divisions in P5 football. He'll do more than Jimbo does at A&M.

You weren't here last summer when MSU was supposedly gonna beat us by 30 points and finish with a higher ranked class.

Bama has gotten back to regular season wins matter more than NC losses.

Spurrier won how many SEC titles at UF?

Now how many did he win at USCe?

Obvious is obvious. You can't achieve as much with a lesser program as you can with a top tier program

Different thread, same topic.

Type UF in a thread title and UGA fans come out of the woodwork.

so why would your team get worse if your new coach is better than Mullen, won 8 games in his first year with Mullen's recruits, and recruited better than Mullens.

I do remember a lot of you Miss State fans saying Mullens was a bad recruiter, but he just landed a top 10 class at UF in his first year.

Did you not read what you quoted? Our team will likely take a step back this Fall because Mullen left us with a weak collection of Juniors and Seniors. We have no reliable receivers, questionable O-linemen, and lose a lot off the defense. JoMo managed to get some JUCOS to try to fill some gaps, but the team will need to grow up and bounce back in 2020.

If Mullen were still our coach, you could pencil us in for just 5 or 6 wins this Fall.

Pretty sure most fans here were looking at 10 wins as a probability, with 8 wins as the floor. I was not one of those people.

Moorhead's failure to reach unrealistic first year expectations does not mean he is a bad coach, doomed to fail. When put in perspective, he is ahead of the curve.

I’m pretty sure that’s like 5th or 6th most in the nation this year, too
