While your post is correct....I think the Arkansas fans are quite happy with their new coach and don't miss the "ex" at all.

I do agree that Morris has changed your offense and given it a new look and made it less predictable, though. If Gus leaves him alone and lets him run his offense he might be a keeper.

I’m no Gus fan, but damn dude. A national championship game, an SEC championship, and a west title or two in 6-7 years? Other than a little run here or there, Auburn hasn’t ever been better than that.

Morris isn’t all the problem, but he most definitely is a cancer. You’ll see in time.

You are right, sir. Y'all need to finally get rid of Gus and elevate Chad to head coach.

Chad Morris might be the worst coach in FBS. Not hyperbole.

I actually believe Chaggie to be one of the most toxic coaches ever. The speed at which he can lose a locker room is unparalleled. I think by the end of this season you will start to see player defections.

The problem is Gus doesn't recruit OLinemen. It's year eight and we're bumming around for JUCOs and G5 grad transfers every offseason.

well, I'm not saying it's "missing him" per se, but there's definitely some weird stockholm syndrome obsession with him that they can't seem to let go of

Because they all started out good until Gus got his hands on them

Jeremy Johnson had maybe the best half of football I've ever seen out of an Auburn QB against Arkansas in 2014.

Other than a little run here or there, Auburn hasn’t ever been better than that.
Gus's 0.58 conference win percentage has now dipped below all but two of our HCs since 1951 (that lasted a combined 8 years), so we've actually consistently been better than this.

- Shug Jordan (0.60 SEC) had a NC and a Heisman winner

- Barfield (0.45 SEC) was mediocre and got fired after four years

- Pat Dye (0.62 SEC) had 4 SEC championships over seven years and a Heisman, and probably should've had an NC in 1983

- Terry Bowden (.67 SEC) started with 20 straight Ws including a perfect season in 1993, won the West in 1997, then got run out of town midway through 1998 for a combination of not recruiting and sleeping with a booster's daughter

- Tommy Tuberville (.63 SEC) won 9+ games in all but two years from 2000-2007, including going undefeated in 2004 and winning 11 games in 2006

- Gene Chizik (.46 SEC) was 0.29 in the SEC without Cam Newton and got canned for it

And you can say, "Oh, well, that's not a whole lot different," which, okay, but the numbers for the rest of the coaches also include rebuild seasons that Gus didn't need since all his players were already here from his time as OC, and we haven't gotten through the decline season yet. A 4-6 season this year (which I think is about what most of us are expecting at this point) drops his number to 0.56, and again, that's without the rebuilds that Jordan, Dye, and Tuberville had to manage.

he also had a great game against an Auburn High School defense his senior year that had like 5 starters end up playing D1 football, including 2 5* LBs who will remain unnamed

Name a QB that has looked really good at Auburn in the last 5 years.
Every AU QB in Gustav’s tenure has looked fantastic - against Arky.

Which would explain why Pig fans, who likely have only seen AU play their team, say things like “ Y’all were always decent till this year. Gotta be Chad”.

Hell, Jeremy Johnson had the best statistical performance of his entire collegiate career against Arky in 2014 - and he didn’t take a single snap after halftime.

Maybe. I was just taking it as trolling Auburn. I'm not sure it is justified as I don't think Morris is at fault. I actually think Morris has done what he was called in to do...change the offense and make it more multidimensional. I do believe the personnel packages for the plays need a ton of work, though. it just looks like he has the wrong WRs running certain routes.

My personal opinion only, and I have not watched enough to say I am right, though.

I do think Chad may be a black cloud of doom wherever he goes but I have zero problem blaming Gus ultimately. He’s the one who hired him. So, IOW, blaming either or both works for me because I am no fan of Gus or Chad.

FIFY. I didn't add Johnson or Stidham to preseason Heisman lists. In fact, I don't remember any Auburn fans making those votes or writing about them.

I agree - you guys should fire Gus. And by proxy Chad will get fired and that clown will have been fired two years in a row. Even if it costs us more in buyout money I want that man to suffer professionally for what he did to our program.

Nah but plenty jumped on that Johnson hype really fast and hard.

Auburn fans were more careful with Stidham but a few did the same.

To be fair, he might be the worst SEC coach of all time and its been less than a year since his firing. Doesn't seem weird at all to still feel some type of way about him.

fair, but also our beat writers had to censor his name from tweets (by referring to him as, e.g., "Ch*d M*rris" or "Auburn's new offensive coordinator") because Arkansas Twitter would literally just name search him to dump on whatever tweets they could find
