I'm still struggling with this. ...

Over 1,500 bowl games have been played in the history of college football. In none of those games did a team win by as much as 58 points.
Until Georgia just did it in the National Championship game. After a playoff that ensured the two best teams would actually get a chance to play for it all.
Over 40 years with no National Championship, then I blink my eyes and my team wins one and follows it up with an even better one. And we will be ranked #1 going into next season.
I'm still freaking out about this a bit. In a good way, but still. Everything I've ever wanted as a college football fan and ... it happened.
Hope you all get to experience this at some point.

It's not because nobody else could do it. So it's not really a stat that has a lot of meaning.
But grats on the back to back championships anyway.

It helps when you play TCU. Texas Christian. Quick name 2 players. Name an assistant coach. What’s the name of the stadium? Do you personally know anybody who has attended a game there?
Exactly.
Exactly.

I'd feel the same way if my Gamecocks had done-it, ever do-it but, alas, I'll never live to see the day.
Should have won it in '84 when we had the chance.
Should have, could have, might have 2010, 2011, 2012 but for typical shite.
I'll never see it in my lifetime, it's too late now but I've been wishing since the early 60s.
Good for you Golden Dawg.

Georgia lost all their starters on defense to the draft and it was the defense that won the championship in 2021, no way can the offense pick up the slack, not with stetson bennett at QB.
That was the narrative.

TCU or not, it was the national title game which makes it all the more surreal and insane. This wasn’t like some random matchup that some shitty bowl decided to make up because they needed an extra team. This was the college football playoff final against a team that just beat the B1G champs who just beat Ohio State who was also in the playoffs. This was just an insane massacre that nobody could have saw coming even if you thought it’d be a blowout there’s no way you saw this. Georgia could have scored 100 points that night if they wanted to

No one else did do it. Thus no one else could do it.
Any team Could lose any game by 100 in theory. But in actuality they don’t because the other team couldn’t put up enough points to do so.
