If you actually watched the game you'd know we didn't give up 29 to UF.

I did a little digging on the UNC game a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty interesting. First, they couldn't run the ball at all on us (I think they had 40 yards or so). They had 412 yards passing. But, before that wacky 97 yard TD pass with the busted coverage by the true freshman, they had about 150 yards passing. From that crazy play forward, they had 261 yards (this was with about 10 minutes left in the game). I don't know what this all means, but I thought it was interesting.

LSU is currently holding their opponents to over 105 yards less than their average offensive output per game. This while only playing teams from BCS conferences (McNeese St. not included in these stats) Lets compare that to two of the other top defenses in the nation (first two i grabbed)...
Texas is #4 in total D. They hold their opponents to 124 yards less than their average per game. Keep in mind this includes games against Rice and Wyoming which can skew the numbers because those teams typically play much lesser competition therefore those teams average ypg is higher than it would be say in a bcs conference.
Ohio St. is #6 in total D. They hold their opponents to 115 yards less than their average per game. This also includes wins over Marshall, and Ohio, again skewing the numbers.
Compare that to say an Auburn, who holds their opponents to 26 yards less than their average per game. Take out wins over Arky St. and ULM and it drops to 18 yards per game.
All this to say, LSU's defense is legit. Best in the nation?, we'll see. I think you put this D on a team with a top 25 offense and there would be no comparison. That UNC game has us looking much worse than we really are. UNC had all of 195 yards through 3 quarters until Miles admittedly started pulling starters too early, resulting in a 230 yard 4th quarter. For a first game our D was playing great. UNC had drives of -7, -4, -9, -7, 0, -5, and -1 in that game. That's 7 drives for -33 yards.

Yeah but flip it and say what D has auburn faced all year.. See, it's all about motive when starting a thread. I know gumpa have a new found love for their little brothers, but you should call out their O, as well.
Because that topic hasn't been addressed ad nauseum

I can't wait for the game Saturday. Number 1 SEC offense vs. Number 1 D. Should be a battle.
I want people to take a history lesson
In these matchups everyone and their grandmother will pick the high powered offense. Media will sell as the team with the Defense doesn't stand a chance, well they seem to forget time and time again that .....
90% of the time the team with the better defense in these kind of matchups end up humiliating that number 1 offense
I still say blow out and Cam is held in check all day.
Call me crazy if you want, but Auburn is a one man team that is VERY vulnerable

Considering we allow teams to stay in it I think it is closer but we win imo.....which is all that matters.

Well shite man, it's just my opinion. And I'm being honest about the fact that may be why i have that opinion. Do you believe everything opposing fans say before you see it yourself?
And my opinion isn't that LSU's D isn't good or possibly great, I'm just holding out to see what happens this weekend before judging.

Everyone has the right to their opinion, but expressing it on a message board and backing it up with "I haven't seen them much this year" makes you look stupid. Of course, you being stupid is just my opinion, but at least I have some facts to fall back on.

Ok, so they gave up what? 22 to florida cause one was a return? Miss State held them to 7, we held them to 6.

The 10 yard TD drive thanks to Jefferson inflates that value.
