Mine too.
Shumann is a close second.
Shumann is a close second.

I think that Georgia lost so much defensive talent after the '23 season, they are still kind of rebuilding.
The problem is that these guys have been a good bit worse than 2017-2019, while the cupboard has been far more stocked with talent on paper.
Nobody is realistically expecting a 2021-2022 level defense, but it seems like there's some recent issues with gameplanning, scheme, & evals that have arrived since Schumann became the main guy. He seems especially weak with scripted drives, UGA gives up a lot of 1st drive TDs and this year it's turned into the whole 1st half.
Tbf we've likely played the best offenses that we'll see until the postseason and the guys have definitely had to grow up quickly. And in Schumann's defense, the practice philosophy has changed because of too many injuries & not enough depth anymore.

So when this doesn't happen you'll self ban?

There is certainly this element to it. The talent is not quite what it has been but it is still pretty damned impressive on paper. Its fundamental things that are missing...bad angles, really bad tackling technique at times and being JUST out of position at times. There is also more "confusion" at times with players not knowing exactly where theyre supposed to be when the ball is snapped. UGAs defense is not lousy....its still pretty good and at times in the second half of games this season it has been better than good if not elite...but good is not where UGA coordinators make bank anymore...good is where Auburn and the like coordinators get paid...good gets you a lot of high recommendations for jobs elsewhere in Athens today...

Schumann can reignite any QB’s Heisman candidacy, no matter how dead in the water it may seem.
To his credit he gets the Heisman voters attention in the first half then proves how clueless they are in the second half....

This is a valid point. It is easy as a Dawg fan to try to hold a defense to 21-22 standards which simply ain't fair....but 19-20 is certainly fair. I was thinking this weekend that this team is an awful lot like the COVID team.....with an uncanny ability to recover from certain death.

Sometimes a little longer than one half.

Has he really been that bad?
The guy is just trying to have a hot take.
A bunch of Georgia fans eternally think that we're one or two assistant coach hires away from going directly back to 2021 and 2022 and winning the national title game 65-7.
Schumann has been with Kirby since the beginning and has moved up to Kirby's first lieutenant. He's not god's gift to defensive coordinators, but he's still a helluva football coach and a top 5 or 10 recruiter. His players would run through a brick wall for him.

Edit: I think he’s probably a good coach. I don’t think all the issues are on him alone. If he goes to Florida, I don’t know who they’d get that’s better.

Saying it’s certain is absolute bullshite. We’re a long ways from anything being certain.

Gator fans, and tCAW in particular, will be underwhelmed by this.
“We got rid of Billy for HIM?!?!?”

I've piled on Schumann at times but deep down I think you're right. I remember Coley at OC and remember how many Mike Bobo fans we had at the time
