LSU and TAMU are similar programs. College Station and Baton Rouge are both awful towns. Unless hes getting more money, which he wont cause LSU broke, why move?

Maybe we can work if like an MLB trade where Aggie will still pay a portion of his contract while coaching for LSU

I'm not either, but Jimbo at LSU would still be a helluva lot better than Jimbo at A&M or Ed at LSU.

considering that Jimbo hasn't proven ANYTHING as a coach in at least 3 years and last I checked O has LSU headed in a positive direction while A&M can't get past the 9 win plateau, a precedent set by Kevin Sumlin, whom Jimbo was hired to replace and surpass.

I could see him jumping all over it provided they match teh 75M guaranteed

It wouldn't be $75M by 2020.

No need, LSU will be in CFP this year.

The only thing I can think of is that FSU told Jimbo he would get the no buyout to keep him around while Bowden was still there. Other than that it doesn't make much sense.

Saban is the only coach that should be able to demand the no buyout, if Urban was still coaching I could see him with the same demand. Jimbo has one title.

FWIW I wouldn't want to pay Jimbo $7.5 M/yr and no buyout. Would have to be more like 5/6 a year for 5 years and buyout which he would be dumb trade for unless he really doesn't mesh well with the new AD.

You guys have a pretty easy path there, but would get destroyed in the first (playoff) game.

3) I’m not sure LSU fans are as high on Jimbo now as we were 12-24 months ago.

This is correct.

It’s a fluid thing. Right now, LSU has a coach that controls his own destiny. If Orgeron wins 10 or more games in the regular season each year, he will be LSU’s head coach as long as he desires.

However, if there comes a time in the future where he doesn’t, he will open the door for conversation and speculation.

At this moment, and I reserve the right to change my opinion as this season and future seasons play out, I think LSU is in a better spot with Orgeron that we would be in with Fisher. At this moment, I’m fairly content with LSU’s head coach. He has more to prove, for sure, but I feel that we’re in a really good spot.

The university may be, but athletics are separate from the University. The university also benefits more off of the athletics than vice versa.

Seems you know NOTHING about how major college coaches are paid ! fyi fund raising groups like TAF, pay the salaries...NOT the state or the educational institution. Can you understand that ? TAF certainly has the $...idiot !

States most certainly pay coaches. Generally the highest paid state employee is a college football coach.

I never said that. There was discussions amongst our fans that the university was supposedly thinking about paying up to $6mil.

You're a bitch alter, go away.
