sure we did. we could have paid someone else less.

And if yall want Jimbo he is free to make his own decisions. Problem is he isn't going to take a pay cut just for the frick of it.

Consider these two points: 1.) Jimbo is not the only big name coach in CFB without a buyout clause. Namely Nick Saban at Bama has no buyout on his end of the contract.

Maybe not, but a no buyout clause is nothing unheard of in the CFB world. The way people have been shouting about it the last couple of days you would figure this was some monumental lapse in a coach's contract. When in fact it's nothing new and A&M is not even the first school to offer and sign such terms over to Jimbo.

Funny story:

LSU pioneered the no-buyout clause in high-priced contracts with Nick Saban. LSU was widely criticized for over-paying for a football coach after the 2003 season. I don't believe there was any buyout for Saban when he bolted for the NFL.

Actually Nick Saban was our model all along.

We wanted our own national title winning coach like Texas tried to get with Saban back in 2013, and we were willing to pay top dollar for one.

Would you turn down millions of dollars just to avoid some weirdos? No way.

America is built on weirdos being able to buy the affection they can't otherwise get. Ask our president about that one.

Depends. Jimbo cut his teeth at LSU. He thought we has going to get the HC job before. Hes good friends with SW.
Its not nearly as far-fetched that he could end up in P/G if O steps on his dick this year or next.

You don't have to believe me. Fwiw, WW thing was only like 34 days and before that when the OLOL stuff came out, I wasn't even posting on here. I told KSG that I would hold off the rant for Lent. That was until I found out that was April 20th. Before that though and when all this broke, I wasn't posting on here. I did poke at LSU last week, but I talked to my source this past weekend. HailState is a bit off because I posted a few days before JA got removed, not a full week. Everything that I said in that thread happened to a T including an ESPN report that was posted yesterday that said exactly what I said and the reasons that I gave.

Again, I don't really care if you don't believe me. Notice how I didn't troll in this thread or my other thread posting what I heard. I have trolled LSU outside of them though. Keeping business with business and fun outside of these threads. Good day sir!

Difference is, LSU structured his contract like that after he won a NC at LSU, not before.

Winning a NC at FSU =/= winning a NC at A&M.

When it comes to what he is worth as a coach it doesn't matter where he won it.

So Les is easily worth that same type of contract, right?
