Reached out to my source for the fun of it and apparently this may actually come true. If Ed has a bad year - which doesn't seem likely - moves will be made and Jimbo would more than likely be the new head coach. Take it fwiw, just figured I'd pass the message.

That would be a stupid move for Jamesbo.

I could see him jumping all over it provided they match teh 75M guaranteed. With how much LSU fans have clowned Aggy for that, would the Tigah fans support that? Could y'all even afford it?

LSU isn't going to pay 75 mil, they will compensate him for what he's worth though. Remember, 75 is the best Jimbo will get. He's not going to peak over that with the current lifetime of his contract. He will enjoy the money he made at A&M, but he knows he has a much better chance at LSU. Money isn't everything for a guy like him.

1) LSU is not paying any one $75m guaranteed

2) LSU wiill not have a HC’s contract that doesn’t contain at least some buy out language in favor of the unversity. How AM went along with the lack of this provision just shows how desperate the BOS was to get Jimbo.

3) I’m not sure LSU fans are as high on Jimbo now as we were 12-24 months ago.

I just said above that they wouldn't. He's hit his max.

Meh. If he did take it, he isn't leaving until he's done coaching.

I'm not either, but Jimbo at LSU would still be a helluva lot better than Jimbo at A&M or Ed at LSU.

That's the writing on the wall, you don't need a sauce for that.

Yeah, it's definitely something anyone smart could see as a possibility, but I'm just passing some word, I'm not selling anything here.

What dumbass AD would agree to a contract like that?

The topic of Jimbo's buyout seems to have blown up over the last day. It's not new and I guess people think it's some sort of revelation of things to come, which I find interesting since no one is willing to look into the context but rather just over react to this fact of Jimbo's contract (Aggies and outsiders alike).

Consider these two points:
1.) Jimbo is not the only big name coach in CFB without a buyout clause. Namely Nick Saban at Bama has no buyout on his end of the contract.

2.) Jimbo did not have a buyout of his contract at FSU either. This wasn't some new term he or his agent snuck into his contract at A&M. The no buyout rule is simply a term for any contract he signs with any team, period.

Now go forth and try not to sound like idiots screaming about buyout terms of contracts for national championship winning coaches.

To be fair, A&M had to do something to put asses in that stadium. Jimbo had leverage and it was a financial decision.

Only one coach should be able to demand such a clause in his contract- AND HIS NAME IS NOT JIMBO.

Oh yeah? I guess someone should have told that FSU years ago then.
