Despite not earning that spot, it’ll make it even more glorious when they get that third L this Saturday.
The loss will bump them to 4th next week

But does a loss to LSU guarantee a 9-3 Bama will be in the playoff with them being ranked so high to begin?

Typical LSU victim mentality.

I think that was their thinking

Typical uneducated Bama response.

No.
There is only 1 thing guaranteed and that is if Alabama goes 9-3, they will be the highest ranked 9-3 team and there is good reason for it.
Whatever record Alabama has, they are going to be the highest ranked team with that record.
Because of SoS and having a bunch of good wins.

You'd think LSU fans would be a little more cautious about talking shite before 'Bama comes to their stadium.

If LSU wins out you'll likely be a top5 team by the end of the regular season.
You just don't have the accomplishment yet. You've lost to 2 teams already and you have 3 opponents coming up who are rated tougher than both those teams in the power rankings(although Ole Miss and Tennessee are near equal).
You've played the 3rd easiest schedule in the SEC thus far, but that's going to change rapidly.
LSU has nothing to worry about, you control your own destiny.

They beat an MS State team that is now 4-4. That's so much better than Tennessee beating an Auburn team that is also 4-4

Shouldn’t you just be happy because it means win or lose you’ll be doing it against a top 5 team?
This indirectly benefits LSU even if you haven’t realized it yet.

Or even factor in that UT just beat Bama’s arse by 18
It’s one thing to lose a game by a fg. It’s another to lose by three scores
ETA: my bad, it was 16! Bama just lost by 16 wickets to UT and is ranked eight spots higher than the team that destroyed them

Agreed, a win here & they're in good shape for the SECCG. I'll eat my hat if Kentucky makes it instead. Kiffin has them looking good, but Bama is a much stiffer test than anyone they've played, other than Ole Miss.
Deboer is very good at big games, Kiffin is too though. I'm just excited to watch it as a neutral fan
