Exactly. I'll be much nicer to OU fans than Texas though. I like having someone new to hate.

This what sports is all about!

It’s ok to hate someone.

I might have to lighten up on bama and Florida to focus on Texas.

Know your place, pleebs.

Number one in the Director's cup, in a championship game against you, in the College World Series, looking good in basketball, maybe looking good in football.

Know our place, Wildcat.

So you're a jack of all trades, but a master of none?

Color me so impressed, pleeb.

My first post here.

Greetings and Salutations fellow gridiron fan.

quote:

Arkansas should be happy to have the state of Texas open up a little bit more for them in recruiting. Leaving the old SWC hurt them there. Being the only non-Texas school in that conference always made them feel cheated and a little alien. That should all be balanced out now. That was a fun rivalry.

Yes, this will definitely make the hogs day. They miss Texas, but I think mostly they miss the good ole days when they went into the state of Texas and pulled out bluebloods that have failed them these almost 30 years. They are probably dreaming of 1969 as we speak.

quote:

A&M should be happy to be back in the same conference with the school essential to their identity.

And this to you shall learn. Education has always been a 2-way street. The SEC is an entirely different culture and you catch an Aggie program on the rise as one of the West bullies. They have an NC coach in place and the facilities and mostly, they have plenty of blueblood recruits that Texas hasn't been getting. You might as well get used to the idea that the Aggies look bigger standing on Mount SEC.

quote:

We already had a few of you scheduled.

The Texas Longhorns don't want to be your damn brothers. We don't want to be family. We don't ask that anyone watch our back. No strong school in any conference ever does. Let's get it on.

Your biggest worry is improvement and in a hurry. You are walking into stadiums on Saturday night that don't just represent rivals with teams with mid-tier talent. They represent TALENT and tradition that says national champions in your lifetime. And that's before you get to BAMA.

Manly yells because we're very manly and very secure about it!) will actually have some meaning again at least when they play us. I'm sure they're delighted.

Ahem…

Then there’s that “only light the tower completely orange when we beat A&M” thing.

But, yeah, it’s one-sided alright.

I wish the SEC would take Oklahoma and TCU or Baylor instead of UT. Just totally screw UT!

Oddly enough, you can thank Nick Saban for pretty much everything related to the CFB arms race of which this is just another extension.

Remind us all who beat that arse in the college World Series, junior.

I welcome Texas with open arms. This is the era of diversity and we didn't have enough figs in the conference.

Now that Texas is in the league, Mizzou has competition for the Social Justice U title. Going to be interesting to watch the arms race.

Yes, we're shaking in our boots at the thought of going to Vandy, Ole Miss, Kentucky, USC, or A&M at night.

No stadium will be more virulently anti-Texas than A&M was at home, and we have a winning record at Kyle including scoreboard right now.

We will not nor should we be favored to win the conference on arrival, but you're kidding yourself if you think we'll start off getting killed. The Big 12 A&M team that joined in 2012 didn't seem to mind the transition so much and Missouri has won their conference twice.

The Brutal SEC Schedule myth is just that. Alabama is dominant. No question. After that, there is a handful of very solid teams some of whom we've beaten recently. The SEC is a strong conference, but the across the board strength is overstated.

Thanks for the welcome. We won't crawl in kissing your feet and riding your successes like other recent additions to the conference. OU won't either. You wouldn't if you were joining a new conference.

Other than our baseball stadium which is pretty good, our facilities are very good and moving toward excellent with the new baskeball arena. Money certainly isn't an issue.

That's the last time I'll talk about money and facilities because they are nothing without results.

I hope the games are fierce. The venues will be great. We'll almost certainly be improved by the new alignment, but we're not starting in the gutter.

It will be fun watching OU unleash their offense on the SEC. It will also be fun watching their defense, but for entirely different reasons. Their games should be wild.

I don't know what we'll have. I'm of an optimistic bent, but I'm terrible at predicting. I just pull for the team and hope for the best.

Recruiting will improve for sure and we were already doing fine there. Winning consistently has been more elusive. With Herman, every game was a seven point shite fight whether it was Kansas or OU. Welcome, Sark.

So you bring out the big 12-2 lineup comparisons right off the bat? Must be a habit? Not going to help you in Athens, Tuscaloosa, Baton Rouge, Auburn, Gainesville, or College Station. Seeing is believing.

The accumulative effect is going to wear those shorthorns down to nubs.

Yep, you're an idiot. 24/7 recruiting should tell you better. You will see athletes that are going to remind you when you actually had a recruiting pulse. The teams with recent National Championship Trophies, well that will be new for you guys, week after week.

Do you watch the college football playoffs? We've seen their all offense and no defense. Georgia, BAMA, and LSU since 2017, how'd that work out?

quote:

Recruiting will improve for sure and we were already doing fine there

You had better. This league is who they are because of recruiting and coaching. You will see plenty of teams that can run out athletes man for man and then some with your best efforts.

That's the SEC and it's unlike any place you've ever been.

Essential to our identity, huh? It would appear that yall have football envy. Texas to the SEC a decade ago was unthinkable according to your entire fanbase, but since we have passed you up, yall have to join the SEC in an attempt to be relevant again.

I personally look forward to renewing our games.

frick the Longhorns. I vote we keep things the way they are and stop trying to kill the best sport mankind has ever created in CFB.
