Actually it's the decade after the decade after UGAs last championship, just to be precise

UGA fans are kidding themselves if they think it's not a rivalry

Yes, its a rivalry.... it just doesn't have the meaning it once did.

Georgia has won 14 of the last 17 meetings. Tech did go on a 3-game win streak in 1998, 1999, and 2000.... but prior to that blip, Georgia won 26 out of 34.

Put all that together, and UGA is 40-11 in the last 51 meetings.

It's hard for a rivalry to keep a fervor when one program wins 80% of the games over a a period of half a century.

You don't have to be a boomer to remember the 90s.

Been weird for awhile now. Both schools have had bad stretches then great runs but neither seems to have it at the same time. 2012 was the closest we've had to a top tier match up for awhile. During Meyer's years he destroyed them, then Muschamp and Jumbo took over the rivalry.

When did they play twice in a season? Bowl games?

Tech hasn't been much of a rivalry for us since the '60s or '70s.... we're long past that.

Give the new guy a chance, he's going to re emphasize FB and Recruiting in the Metro ATL

GT is trying to recover from an 11 yr mistake of running the friggin Tripl-Oh in a place as loaded with talent as the Metro Atl Area is

We don't expect to beat out Clemson, Bama, UGA very often if ever, but if we can keep future NFL talent from GA HSs away from places like SCarolina, Kentucky, Tenn, Duke, UVA, UNC

If we can do that, we can build GT to a consistent 9-10 win Program and hopefully elevate the Rivalry to where it is part of the Nat'l CFB discussion

If Collins can Recruit like I think he can he'll help you guys by weakening Tenn, Auburn, SCarolina, Kentucky by taking away GA HS talent that ends up competing against you guys, but then you probably won't dominate COFH like you have in the past

The way Fromm is playing you guys need to be on upset alert, I know, not likely, but I gotta always be optimistic

Yes what a great series/rivalry this was. In terms of stakes only Bama-LSU has had that level of stakes since in a yearly series, though FSU-UF was more consistently high stakes.

Also those teams really don’t like each other but right now it’s an afterthought in the national picture.

They played football in the 90s? LSU fans are convinced the sport started in 2000.

Agreed. I think Collins is the real deal. Loved him at UF as DC.

Those instate Florida games were incredible. I always remembered how dominant FSU was in the early 2000s in every game except Miami. I wasn't old enough to remember the "wide [direction]" games of the 80s but I assume it was a similar feel. Miami was just in their heads

Kind of like UG / G Tech.

We can't help it that GT doesn't keep up their end by not being ranked in the top-25.

Those games against Miami were actually in 1991 and 1992.
