Very true. Any physics, engineering, etc degree will be somewhat difficult to obtain and would take diligent study. However, anyone at any SEC school (maybe aside from Vanderbilt) could get a liberal arts, general education, business, etc. degree.

7. Texas A&M (really don't like the campus atmosphere, but it's a good school. I think I'd be miserable there. I love nice campuses)

What campus atmosphere is this exactly?

I'm an East-Coast person. I love trees, hills, rivers, and pork BBQ.

Edited:

And the campus itself is very cold architecturally. I love Greek revival and Gothic revival

The Corps is like 3% of the student body, and if you wouldn't fit in in the state of Texas, you wouldn't fit in anywhere in the SEC. And if you want to be a member of the most powerful alumni network, it belongs to the Aggies, and it ain't even close...

Hmm... a bunch of dudes touching hands.

Did y'all know aTm has a tradition called the Elephant Walk?

As for academics, it depends on what you want to major in. Obviously Vandy is the best overall, with Georgia, A&M, and Florida in the next tier.

As for the feel of the campus, I probably like Auburn and Georgia the best.

My list would be something along the lines of:

Vandy
Auburn
Georgia
Florida
A&M
LSU

If I had to do it over again, I would still choose Florida for its engineering program. Texas A&M and Auburn would be good choices as well, though aTm's campus and culture would probably scare me away. Actually, if I had to do it over again, I might go outside of the SEC... maybe some place like UVA or UNC.

Coming out of high school I nixed Ga. Tech. What a horrible place.

Vanderbilt by a mile. Anyone who says otherwise is kind of an idiot.

All of these culture posts are hilarious.. We have the same culture as any other big state public school. All of the traditions on gameday and other crazy traditions are fun little things we do, but it no way is the everyday campus "culture" reflective of our gameday traditions.

Every recruiter I talk to says A&M is great for extremely friendly and hardworking students.
