I can see the argument for sure.

This argument can go a different direction, as well.
Alabama beat SC by two points, at home. Neutral field, hwo would oddsmakers place it?. Bama loses to Vandy, and gets boatraced by Oklahoma. SC skullfricked both of those teams, and has a better late-season victory than Alabama's marquee victory over UGa, which is well in the rear-view mirror.
I'm not saying SC gets in. I am saying, of the three 3-loss teams that have a chance, their resume is best - even though they've lost the head 2 head. Objectively, SC is a better football team than Alabama or Ole Miss right now. I'm not sure that is controversial.

They'd still need more help.
This committee wants to disregard strength of conference and reward W-L records irregardless of conference.

Except that Bama and Ole Miss beat USCe on the field, so the argument holds little weight.
USCe would be trying to use a Clemson win to prop themselves over teams they lost to in Bama and Ole Miss. The problem with that is the same Clemson team lost badly to a common opponent that both Bama and Ole Miss beat in UGA.
Maybe I'm putting too much weight into the head to head, and it sucks because USCe is playing great football right now, but I just don't see how anyone could put them in a playoff over a 3 loss Bama or a 3 loss Ole Miss.

No because Ole Miss beat them

Get in to what? Theater? McDonald’s?

South Carolina would need 2 additional upsets, (in addition to them winning, in any capacity, over Clemson).
One of the other 2 upsets would probably need to be Auburn over Alabama.
There are a couple of paths.

No. They won’t jump Bama unless Bama takes another loss.

Let me settle this. Y’all both lost to lsu so even if that was your only loss it should be an automatic disqualifier for playoffs.

They absolutely did. No two ways around this. It's a big problem, for sure.
Again, I'm not saying SC gets in over those two.
I am saying that they're a better football team right now. And they would be more dangerous in the CFP.
I'll do you one better. If the resumes of SC and Bama were flipped, and it was SC that had a two point victory earlier in the year, but has faltered down the stretch while Bama is on an absolute heater, there is no doubt in my mind that Bama would get the nod in that case. Same with Ole Miss.
There's a degree of "helmet logo" bias in this exercise. Bama and Ole Miss were both expected to be in this position. SC was not. SC has played its way into this conversation, while Bama and Ole Miss have kinda played their way out of it.

I would say USCe should be in because they beat Bama or Ole Miss.
There is not helmet bias, this season.
USCe lost to to both Bama and Ole Miss. It would be a totally different scenario had they won one of those games, but they didn't.

I appreciate your consistency, and the respectful conversation. We disagree, and that's perfectly OK.
Cheers.

Sure why not. That fact this is being discussed is a sign the current system doesn’t work.

I'd love nothing more than to see USCe get in over Bama and Ole Miss because it would put a feather in LSU's cap of a bad season, lol.
Here's to hoping for even more chaos next weekend.
