Not true. OSU, Indiana and Oregon belong. OSU needs some kind of reward for finally beating Michigan. I was thinking..mn...Ohio State will finally win the B1G, but...nope.
I can picture Coach on the State Farm ads reaching for the B1G trophy while Cignetti pulls it away, saying, you almost had it

Perhaps we will do better in the playoffs.

I would dearly love to see the board if the Aggies make it to the Cotton Bowl. I don’t think A&M has ever received the kind of support they would get from this board as a whole if that happens.

Georgia better hope they don't face Ohio State. We'll crush them.

Like you crushed Indiana?

We'd still be winless in SEC play

This is nonsense. We’d replace Auburn, South Carolina, and Arkansas with Oregon, Ohio St, and Indiana

I like our chances against Alabama, but I doubt the Tide can make it that far.

Well you'll certainly have about 10 times more useful film on Alabama than anyone else will have on Ohio St.

As well as a much more rested team and backups who get lots of playing time from playing so many cupcake games

If the SEC Rant were the playoff committee

For me...here is what my seeding would look like:
1. Indiana - Undefeated...'nuff said.
2. OSU - only loss to #1 by 3 points in championship game
3. UGA - Love the revenge factor, but regular season losses count too
4. Texas Tech - 4 point loss to a below average Arizona St. team offset somewhat by BYU beatdown x 2.
5. Oregon - 10 point loss to IU at home wasn't too bad, but came within a red c**t hair of dropping 3 conference games this season. #5 is fair.
6. Ole Miss - 8 pt loss at UGA is much more respectable than the 3 point win over WSU at home or the 7 pt win at Kentucky.
7. aTm - 10 point loss to the rival when the SEC CG is within your grasp is bad. 1 point win over USCe and 3 point win over Arkansas drops you.
8. Oklahoma - 2 conference losses to good teams...#8 is fair.
9. Miami - Losing to two 8-4 teams, #9 is fair.
10. Notre Dame - Close losses to Miami and aTm...a spot or 2 behind each is fair enough.
11. BYU - Sure, you only lost to 1 team, but you weren't within 3 touchdowns of them either time you lost to them.
12. Alabama - 1 conference loss during the season in a top 10 SOS, and splitting with UGA is good enough to squeak in.

As for the others:

Vandy - 2 losses has you in the discussion...OT win over Auburn takes you out of it.

Texas - Three losses hurts...Overtime wins over Kentucky and Mississippi State hurt your cause even more. On the bubble is fair enough.

Utah- You played 2 really good teams and were 0-2 against them. You squeaked by 6-6 Kansas State at home. You are on the outside looking in...but were 3 points away from being on the inside looking out. Pull off that BYU game, and you'd be in the playoff.

James Madison - You played 1 team with a pulse and lost to them by 2 TDs. Sure, you went 12-1, but your SOS was 123rd out of 136 teams. Being the tallest midget or the skinniest girl at fat camp shouldn't be an automatic bid to the playoffs.

Tulane - You're a 2 loss team with a 77th ranked SOS. Even with the 35 point loss to Ole Miss, you might say "it was just 1 game". But the 22 point loss to Texas San Antonio?

DEI for the Group of 5 teams is overcompensating. If one of them goes undefeated, or is a top 10 team...then it makes sense. Otherwise, it's just giving someone a 1st round cake walk. There is no reason that JMU and Tulane should be in this season. The bar for G5 teams should be higher, because they don't have the week in/week out battles that SEC or Big-10 teams face.

My man, we made it at 2-10

Easily the best 2-10 team in the country, but the point stands

I think my brother already has tickets.

Never cared whether B1G fans support Ohio State.

Alabama has the talent, but lacks toughness. I felt the same about Ohio State until they put it together in the playoffs.

I pulled my Michigan grad school app because of the Bear Stearns collapse, and Lehman Brothers bailout and subsequent bailouts because I didn't want to live in Michigan in a financial meltdown and pick up $250k in debt.

Michigan has always been my favorite school after Texas but yeah it would be all A&M all the way there.

Well, you did last year, and a National Title is worth more than a conference championship anyway.
