Why did the Big12 championship outcome affect BYU?

BYU was 11-1 prior. Both BYU and Alabama were blown out so performance doesn’t matter apparently

BYU had wins over ranked 10-2 Utah and 9-3 Arizona. They beat 8-4 TCU, 8-4 ISU, 7-5 Cincy 8-4 east Carolina. Their two losses both were to #4 Texas tech, one of which was in the championship game, which supposedly doesn’t matter.

Why should a Tulane who got blown out by Ole Miss and blown out by 6-6 UTSA get in over BYU? This system is fricked

Because Alabama was the last team in prior to the conference title games while BYU was a bubble team with Notre Dame and Miami. They may have been ranked #11 but they needed to actually beat Texas Tech to play themselves into the CFP.

It's that simple.

You are forgetting Bama lost to a 5 win team? Where is BYU’s bad loss or do the other games not matter?

Is better than Tulanes

Tulane beat ECU by 7. BYU beat them by 21.

Tulane has no wins over top 25. BYU has two.

No reason to put Tulane in. JMU is deserving they went 12-1

RED. We must accept the fact that the gumps will be in even going 6-6. ESPN is going to get bama in.

My only thing about it is it seems like all the seccg did was risk more injury. I get the reasoning why Alabama did not drop but GA got no benefit.

Why play the game? The Sec didn't always have it and it may be time to revisit with the sec going to 9 conference games.

The question should be: why did Miami get to jump two teams?

No one wants to watch Bama either. They should not be in the playoffs.

I’m not arguing bama shouldn’t have gotten in.

I’m arguing that they aren’t putting the best 12 teams in. It’s clear that BYU is far better than Tulane

JMU is the only G5 school that should have gotten in

That has nothing to do with putting the best 12 in.

Nobody wants to watch OM murder Tulane again either
