Who would you want the AD to make the first call to. Someone who realistically would come for the opportunity (and the money)?
I would want Danny White to call Luke Fickell. That guy can coach and I believe he could put or keep a major program on the top.

OSU has a younger guy who has already been more successful. Unless Day bolts for the NFL, Which would be a bad move, Fickell is waiting on a job that may never come open in his window of opportunity.

Anything can happen. A health scare with one of them is enough to make any man step back and say...wait a minute. Maybe I need to relax and enjoy each other for our twilight years.
It's not like he needs the money and has to stay.

If Saban stopped coaching after this season who I want or any other Bama fan wants won’t matter. It’ll be Dabo. He wants to come home and he’s still young enough for them to bring him home. I don’t hate it. He’s a helluva recruiter and his budget for coaches will increase significantly here. He’s not my number 1 choice but he’s definitely top 3.

Ryan Day isn't bolting for the NFL anytime soon. I've lived in Columbus for the past year and a half and one thing I know: he absolutely loves being there and the city loves him just as much.

As a UT fan I would HATE to see UA get Dabo. The thought of what he could do with Bama's resources is not pleasant to me.

In 8 years, yes. After this season, hell no. Lane still has a lot of growing up to do before he can handle an elite program and all that comes with it.
