Easy answer ... Will Levis. If there's one thing that kid knows, its situational football. Assuming Kentucky can lure him away from what will obviously be a filthy rich, lucrative career in the NFL.

I'm thinking NIKE will redo the "Bo Knows" commercials - starring Will Levis. He's the modern day Chuck Norris. When Will Levis falls into the creek, he doesn't get wet. The creek gets Will Levis.

So - Will Levis. Final answer.

I know he went out of style after the horror of a 10-3 season, but the easy answer for Bama is still Dabo. He can recruit, runs a clean/disciplined program, and has been to the playoffs only one less time than Saban himself. Any Bama fan acting like we are above hiring Dabo is stupid. I doubt he takes the job though. I would not if I were him.

Although the stars may be aligning where Saban's retirement and Dabo/Clemson beginning to feel the recruiting strain of being stuck in the ACC another decade could line up at the perfect time to make him interested.

I agreed with you until you said he wouldn’t take it and you wouldn’t if you were him. Dabo would quit Clemson tomorrow if saban died. On your other point about not taking it, I feel like you must be an old timer and you think we are going to have post Bear 2.0 when Saban leaves.
That’s not happening. Our boosters fully understand that if they stay out of the way championships happen. Plus, even if they don’t stay out of the way we have NIL now so the boosters are no longer a problem. They are honestly a major benefit. No one else in the country spends what we spend on football. Dabo will get his choice of OC and DC and do what he does best, be the GM and head recruiter

I don't think anybody is chomping at the bit to coach in Saban's shadow.

However, win one NC, and Saban is "the guy who used to be our coach". .

Jeez. Another TN/Bama circle jerk. Why don’t you frickers get a room and finger bang each other for the TSIO.

We had a chance to rotate division play years ago and alternate permanent cross division teams but the Gumps in BHam that run the SEC couldn’t stand losing their big orange buddy game.

frick both of you. I hope Bama gets TN, AU, Vandy as their permanent pod seeds when they come out in 2 years.

Name the last time a top 10 head coach, already in a position to win national titles at his current school, left to take over for another premier coach who left with a program in good shape.........

They don't do this because its a lose/lose proposition. If you win, its because you were supposed to, and you probably still won't win as much as the last guy. If you even slightly drop off from the last guy, you are a disaster who is taking the program down.

The only thing taking Dabo out of Clemson is if Clemson truly gets stuck in the ACC until the GOR expires and the landscape shifts to the point of where he can't recruit in a 3rd tier conference anymore. Even then, him leaving Clemson doesn't automatically mean Bama is the new school. I could see him taking a job like OU or Texas as they transition to the SEC if their current coaches can't get things going.

This is actually a pretty relevant thread for Tennessee fans. Your fat frick of a head coach could literally die of a heart attack any second now.

frick you.

Bama will most definitely get UT and AU as permanent games.

...and UT, UA, and AU could not be happier with that arrangement.

I disagree, I think he is a great coach and at Alabama he would get it done.

I can't. Honestly, and I've watched Kentucky Football for forty years, since I was a kid. I have never been this mad for this long after a game.

I'm madder now than I was yesterday. I have truly had enough of that shite show, starring Will Levis. Did you know he's going pro ? Yeah, its true. Peyton Manning says he'll kill the interview process.

You know what Will Levis doesn't kill ? The whole "pull the ball down and don't turn it over after four seconds in the pocket" process. He kinda' sucks at that part.

Chug, you are just a dumb old sodomite. I fully expect LSU to beat the brakes off of Tenner again. I realize Tenner has hired 5 or 6 coaches since Alabama started with he 15 year beat down, but you don’t need to start off season old man pipe dream threads for coach number 7.

Totally disagree. Bama's boosters are staying out of the way because they have no other choice. Saban made that happen. And with any power vacuum, they will swoop back in given the opportunity. Our boosters aren't on the sidelines as part of some voluntary strategy. They would rather have their power and influence more than winning if they had the choice.

quote:

No one else in the country spends what we spend on football.

Also disagree, at least in a future context. Bama is already getting close to the max out of our pool of boosters that we can. Everyone in the conference will be flush with tv cash. But the difference maker in an NIL world will be which schools have access to the most boosters, large corporations, etc. Bama isn't much higher than Ole Miss in that regard. The alumni base and Birmingham corporate base is chump change compared to the Texas schools, Florida, Tennessee, UGA and some of the B10 schools like Michigan and OSU. We don't have a single alumni with any interest in football who is a billionaire. We have always had the most motivated boosters but not the wealthiest. That was enough to keep up in a non-NIL world but our best hope is that NIL gets reigned in (as even Saban badly wants) because we can't compete financially with the top 5-10 schools if it isn't.
