The NFL that’s still supposedly playing?

There are dozens of sicknesses and activities that can lead to what your link referenced.

The only reason it’s being brought out now at the eleventh hour is because the previous tactics didn’t work. But how can you call bullshite on something that won’t be more than a fringe issue (if it ever even is) for decades?

Smart play tbh

Did the NFL ever stop playing? Or did they make moves to limit the impact of concussions?

How many colleges have been sued for CTE injuries? Honest question as I’m not sure.

They can't all transfer to the SEC/ACC/Big 12. Some of those second tier players will fall to the G5 conferences that continue to play.

LA Tech about to feast

Id love to see a squad of big10/pack12 starters all say screw this and all go to LA Tech or FAU or Southern Miss and just put up video game stats all year.

So you are trying to compare a professional sports league to college sports?

You do realize there are individual NFL franchises that profit more than entire college conferences in any given year, right?

You realize you’re the one who first compared the NFL to college football?

I take the virus seriously. But any study at this point is purely speculation, and is heavily biased.

If they want to play and prepare the future the three leagues should increase safety protocols and offer a significant Covid stipend to each player. Then hold ESPN hostage for bigger TV rights to carry the games.

Yes, I used the NFL to show that a $1 billion dollar lawsuit would be too much for the entirety of college athletics to absorb.

ETA sorry, I expected anybody with a modicum of common sense would be able to understand that.

There must be a ton of deaths then!

That's not the point.

this is the issue

Studies have shown that the novel coronavirus is associated with heart damage and cardiac problems in some patients, and research published Monday in JAMA Cardiology suggest those issues could last for months after patients recover from Covid-19—sparking concern among cardiologists that the heart complications could be permanent.

THose are two FATALLY FLAWED studies that JAMA and 1000 slanted publications have used. One was 39 GERMANS who died of Covid and the other was 100 GERMANS who tested positive and an average age of 49.

There was no negative control group studied in either.

There were no previous images of the heart studied.

There was no accounting for other comorbidites.

For the 39 who died there was no accounting for the possibility of the radical treatment causing the issues.

Germans smoke at almost double the rate of AMericans.

Not to mention that myocarditis can be caused any anything from the common cold to STRESS.

Neither study would EVER have been take seriously with such low no numbers and no controls except for it fitting an agenda.

SO STOP YOUR PROPAGANDA BULLSHcc

One study examined the cardiac MRIs of 100 people who had recovered from Covid-19 and compared them to heart images from 100 people who were similar but not infected with the virus. Their average age was 49 and two-thirds of the patients had recovered at home. More than two months later, infected patients were more likely to have troubling cardiac signs than people in the control group: 78 patients showed structural changes to their hearts, 76 had evidence of a biomarker signaling cardiac injury typically found after a heart attack, and 60 had signs of inflammation.

These were relatively young, healthy patients who fell ill in the spring, Valentina Puntmann, who led the MRI study, pointed out in an interview. Many of them had just returned from ski vacations. None of them thought they had anything wrong with their hearts.

I know. I read it when you originally posted that NFL v. CFB comparison.

Thanks for the confirmation though I guess

Dude it’s not fricking happening.

All of you have been in serious denial for months, and if you are legitimately surprised you’re a fool.

Downvote away, but at least I was mentally prepared for this. The clinging to hope is pathetic

the players don't make a dime

So sick of hearing this. In addition to free housing, free food, free education, free tutoring, free world class sports training and medical care, treated like gods on campus, all full scholarship athletes at P5 schools get cash payments of $2,000 to $5,000 a year to spend anyway they wish. Is it enough relative to what they bring in to the school? Probably not, but don’t say ‘they don’t make a dime.”
