That's a valid point.
Saban's won 6 National Championships at Bama.
Without Saban, this dynasty run doesn't exist.

Les won with Saban's players so probably O.

They both won a title in their 3rd year.

you maybe right. Before Saban got to LSU, the facilities for football were subpar. Joe Dean was AD as was terrible at that. Mark Emmert came in and brought Saban in and LSU began to invest in facilites and infrastructer. LSU became a power.

Absolutely. LSU and Saban raised each other’s stature.

Had Saban had not gone to LSU I doubt he’d be at Bama. Crazy how the Butterfly Effect happens in college sports.

I'd argue "returning to his true form" would be somewhere around 10 wins.

You will be sorely disappointed next season when you guys go 8-4.

Ask this question again in a couple of years when LSU is fighting for respectability.

LSU likely would've went 8-4 in 2020 if they played their original schedule.

Thats with 17/22 starters leaving, nearly 40 players altogether. No offseason, and some garbage coaching, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

Orgeron still managed to win 9 games, even in a year where he lost to Troy and got demolished by Mississippi State.

When, not if, you go 8-4 this upcoming season, I'll be laughing.

Anything is possible.

However, it'd be out of character for Orgeron to only win 8 games at LSU.

The same could be said for Bama.

When Saban leaves who knows what happens?

well that's very interesting, considering that Dodge Charger were not produced in any of his years at LSU.

Chargers were discontinued in the late 1980s and reintroduced in 2006

Coach O or Les

It’s a bullshite question.

If Saban was never hired, he would not have left for Miami so we would never have hired Les who would not have been fired resulting in O getting the job.

I don’t think either wins a natty. LSU was a mess when Saban got there. He righted the ship and made LSU a player in recruiting and a national power. Without that foundation I don’t think LSU wins it in 2007 or 2019

correct. From 1970 (SEC integration) till Saban's arrival LSU was 6th in the SEC (7th if you count A&M) in number of victories and 6th in number of SEC titles

for that matter they won 1 SEC title in the 60s (that shared with Alabama), won 1 in the 50s, 0 in the 40s, and 2 in the 30s.

Damn. Before Saban you guys sucked at football

What as really crazy is how one of Sabans decisions changes 4 programs. 2 in college and 2 in the NFL.

Where would LSU, Bama, the Saints and the Dolphins be had Saban went with Drew Brees over Dante Culpepper?

I know there were questions about Bress’ shoulder at the time, but Saban still could have went with him.

Why would you count a team that wasn’t in the SEC at that time?
