Do they get an honorary conference championship, kinda like UCF did nationally?

idk but here's a related question...is ole miss banned from bowl play or "postseason play"?
I know there's a 0.0% chance of them winning the west but in the miraculous event it did somehow happen, would they be able to play in the SECCG?

Hopefully we can hang another Co-West Champions banner

I'm actually curious about this as well. If they could play it would be strange

It doesn't say that and you know it.

Postseason play.
In 2002, Alabama would have won the SEC West but was unable to play in the SECC. I believe the same applies to 1993 Auburn.

It's a postseason ban. However, we are awaiting the appeals committee ruling.

gotcha, thanks. I knew about the 02 bama thing and not being able to go to the SECCG that year, but I didn't know if it was the same for ole miss this year or if it only applied to bowls.

Strange the admin wants to keep dragging this out, is the weed Wacker bowl that important.
What would suck for OM is to be ineligible due to record and have the ncaa not rule till after the season.

It is pretty unthinkable.

Can a team on probation win the division? Legally, it seems impossible. They are just declared ineligible, I would think, to avoid any controversy

It happened to Ohio State as well. Urban Meyer went 12-0 in year 1 but couldn't play in the conference or national championship.

You know we would be the most obnoxious fans on the planet if that happened. UCF X100
But our defense is going to make sure that doesn’t happen

If you don't actually play in the championship game, then it's just a participation trophy. Sorry, 2003 RebelBearSharks.

You do realize I think it’s just as dumb as everyone else thinks right? ??

This year you will be hanging a Sixth Place banner.

Ole Miss is going to lay down and take their beating, just like last season.

Legally?

And yeah you can win the division while on probation. The deal with that banner is the SEC sent us a divisional championship trophy. Multiple teams can win the division at the same time. The tie-breaker is just who gets to represent the division in the SECCG.
