.500 means bowl game and another season
I can't see him surviving another losing season in any circumstance
The biggest gripe I have with the Lindys rankings is Graham Mertz not getting his due. Guy played lights out and was generally considered near the bottom of the SEC last preseason. He played better than Anthony Richardson did.

the uaa loves Billy. He’s soft, compliant yes man.
Think Aaron Boone for Cashman and Hal for the Yankees
5 wins will definitely buy him a year. They’re already spreading propaganda saying he needs time via Tim Brando and blaming the fans for having too high expectations
5 or more wins he’ll be back in 25
4 wins ??
If 5 wins are enough to make his job safe considering he hasn't won much yet then I have no choice but to conclude the people running the show at UF no longer care about competing with the big dogs. I mean sure the tough schedule will be taken into account, but in my mind Florida should be at a level to where that wouldn't be a huge issue. Guess that's the Cowboys fan in me that remembers Emmit Smith when I was a kid, then the Urban Meyer/Tebow years.

That's been incredibly clear for a bit now

What's the buyout if they fire him after this year? Which would be after all the good coaches on the market are already hired, of course. The whole point of an early firing is to get in early on the coaching carousel. Florida seems to be having funding problems. Do they wait, or fire early? Billy, for his faults, doesn't seem like a "for cause" firing, he seems to be ethicalish.

I think y’all are going to miss Bowers this year. A go to guy like that can save your arse and are not easy to replace. Your qb will miss him
Impossible not to miss a player that good but he was only healthy the first half of the season. Had to adapt halfway through the year and most of those guys are back

Dont get me wrong yall will be fine with the way Kirby recruits and develops but Brock and Ladd are def big losses

Their schedule would brutalize anyone…
But our schedule never has been easy
It’s harder than normal but nearly everyone’s schedule is harder than normal
With this garbage staff we’d struggle with USF’s schedule

Yep which also hurts. Ladd wasn’t healthy until after the bye when we played y’all though then got hurt again 2 weeks later against ole miss. We did have them healthy for individual stretches throughout the year (Brock early, Ladd few games in the middle) but neither were healthy together. Sucked seeing them go out with seasons like that and they’ll be missed no doubt but we got their least productive seasons last year
Just adding some context that plenty of playmakers we relied on in important games return. It’s also true if I could have two players back from last years departures it would probably be Brock and Ladd

UGA was missing one or the other of those two for the majority of last season.
Bowers was #1 in recieving yards at 714 and Ladd was #4 at 478. If you think those numbers seem pretty low... they are. UGA spreads the ball out a LOT in their offense. They're not particularly dependent on individual players when it comes to pass catchers.
UGA also lost their #3 guy (525 yards) who was a senior.
They still return plenty of guys and brought in a lot of transfers.
Ben Yurosek (TE, 658 yards in 2021)
Michael Jackson (WR, 236 yards in 2022)
London Humphries (WR, 439 yards in 2023)
Colbie Young (WR, 563 yards in 2023)
Those guys combined with Oscar Delp and Lawson Luckie at TE (both top 100 recruits) and Dominic Lovett, RaRa Thomas, Dillon Bell, Arian Smith and Anthony Evans at WR give UGA enough depth that we aren't really concerned about having guys to catch passes.

Why on earth would they think he is doing a good job?
