Isn't it time for Texas A & M to give up football?

Please enlighten me on the last championship of any kind for A & M.

Because I like to talk about teams other that just mine.

Dam, and I thought last year and 2 years ago was "in the past". Can a mizzou fan tell me when the present stops and the past begins?

Thank you in advance.

Dawgsontop34 Firing him would be so stupid this year unless we win 8 games or less.

Are you kidding? 8 games? While it's fun to dig at UGA, who are you going to get that is a better coach than Richt?

winning the East (and they haven't been doing that all that often

We've won it 5 times in richt's 14 years, for an average of once every 3 years.

For a coach who's been here a decade and a half, I wouldn't call that "not that often". He goes at a higher frequency than miles.

at face value that doesn't seem all that bad, I will agree with you there, but then consider UGA constantly brings in top 10 recruiting classes, you out recruit us by a mile and then, outside of the few years the Gatahs/Meyer were dominant, you HAVE NO excuse to not be winning it.

And in many of the years we didnt' win the east, the teams that did were bringing in top 5 classes

The years we haven't won it:

01- richt's first year. all new everything
04- underachievement. We should have won and didn't.
06- we were a bad football team that lost to UK/VU.
07- should have won it and didn't
08- UF was dominant and won the national title
09- UF was dominant and started 12-0
10- we were a bad team
13- too many injuries and mizz was a good team
14- didn't win enough games. Beat east winner by 34.

I'm not sure where I get the whole "you should have won more often" line. If just us "shoudl have won" more often, why isn't that applied to everyone else? Should UF or UT have won more than they have? People excuse UT's lack of going the last 7 years by saying "well yeah but they're a bad team right now". Well...in 01,06,09, and 10 we weren't a good football team either and there were simply better teams than us.

I don't care what the circumstances are...if you're coaching in the SEC for 14 years and win your division an average of better than once every 3 years you're doing pretty solid.

So you lost Gurley? Boo-hoo.

We lost Dorial Green-Beckham during the off-season heading into 2014 and still repeated as division champs.

AND you never heard Missouri fans cry about it or use it as an excuse.

Losing DGB was a greater loss to Mizzou's 2014 offense than Todd Gurley ever could be in 2014 or 15.

Was he? We know Mizzou's offense was pure crap last year, but we do not know how much better it would have been with DGB.

The differences are that it was more than just one player (unlike just 1) and we do know how much better our offense was before our top 5 playmakers got hurt in 2013 (big dropoff). We even handled the loss of our #1 WR with no dropoff unlike Mizzou in 2014. The problems arose when we lost 2 more of them + the 2 RB's, which included the best RB in CFB.
