Deboer has been a better recruiter than I expected him to be when he was hired. It was my biggest question about him at that time and he's delivered extremely well.
He's also been a bit worse at the on-field coaching part... developing the Bama offense.
Overall he's about what I expected. He's a very good coach who's capable of winning a national title or two at Bama if they give him time.. but he's a clear step down from Saban.
I think it's more realistic to view him as a good hire, but I can see why some Bama fans got spoiled by Saban and think they can do better.

Troll my arse. If you really watch Bama you know DeBoer ain’t shite. A coach who is satisfied with winning close games rather than dominating his opponent is a losing coach in waiting. That’s DeBoer. I’ve already highlighted the specific reasons I feel DeBoer is a bad coach in my initial post in this thread.

Once DeBoer leaves these same people saying I’m a troll will be repeating what I’m saying as if it’s their original thought. Just watch. When you lose football games because you’re manhandled you already know the losing coach is not a winner. Bama was manhandled by FSU and UGA. That doesn’t happen with a competent head coach with a playoff team.

Why do I get the feeling from your post that you're just now waking up from that wild, years-long party with Saban and now you're beginning to feel the effects of that hangover?
EVERYONE else here (school loyalties be damned) knew that there was no way on earth that anyone could follow up Saban's unparalleled record and that his successor was going to be maligned by a vocal group of Alabama fans who had come to believe that simply being Alabama was all it took to be the football king.
Georgia had your number, just like y'all had LSU's number in the 2011 Natty game. It happens. Even to Alabama.

Kiffin will be more successful at LSU than DeBoer will be at Bama. How do I know? I told y'all when DeBoer got his staff in place that his staff is a Fisher Price staff and he hired based on familiarity. Kiffin is hiring and retaining guys he has never worked with b/c he knows those coaches can coach. Kiffin has guys on his staff who he knows are great coaches on this level of football. DeBoer doesn't even do that.

Not a recipe for success if you ask me. One may think the other is an a-hole after a while. Just remember all coaches have huge egos and the HC at LSU has the largest. Familiarity has it's advantages sometimes. Even Saban had a CORE group for a long time.

No. I simply don't want to get blown out. I want to be competitive. DeBoer was blown out twice this season and was "out-physicaled" by FSU, OU, and UGA. He's not the guy for the Bama job.
