Bama has been here before. I can name about 6 or 7 Bama teams that “should” have made the final four. 76, 78, 82, 87, 91, 04, 21 all were great. Yes, it will be disappointing but eventually one of these teams will break through. If Bama can make the CWS playing with only the 12 schollies you get then the final four is somewhere down the road. When Bama goes they will probably go to several in several years.

As much as I’d love to hate this Bama team.. I can’t.
There isn’t a douchebag player on that team that thinks they’re bigger than their role.
Oates is the coach I like the most outside of Gates. Pearl is up there too.

Oats is going to keep Alabama in this discussion. He’s going to break through at some point.
But like most Alabama fans, we have been here before with multiple teams that should have made a Final Four. Cautiously optimistic until otherwise.

Sometimes I think LUSers don’t realize how hard it is to win a championship, in any sport. Well…Think about Sir Charles who famously never won a championship in any sport from age six through retirement…except for the Olympic gold medal.
Alabama has had the second best record in basketball in the history of the SEC. Among others, the rocket eight team of 1958 was widely thought to be the best in the nation but didn’t even play in the NCAAs.
No I won’t be disappointed. Help me understand how it’s better to lose in the finals rather than round of eight? Does anyone actually keep track of that? Do you get a “2nd Nationally” ring?…nah, no one would do that.

I know this was an opportinity to troll but people seriously underestimate how damn hard it is to win the basketball tourney. Bill self has 2 in 20ish years and it took a miracle shot to win 1 of those. Calipari has had seasons where he had 6 first rounders on the same team and not win. It takes some stars aligning type shite. There are no bama of the last 15 years type runs in basketball. Especially as far as titles go. Best you can hope for is get a good seed in the tourney and hope your hot and they arent.

Playing against mostly mediocre SEC teams will not help Bama make the Final Four. Bama is clearly the best team in the SEC, but I do not think they will make the FF.

Basketball is all about matchups. Aubie has small guards and no real post presense. They'll get smoked in TTown.
You have to have a big strong post player who is on and good perimeter players playing well. Plus catch Bama on an off shooting game, Oklahoma did all of these, as did Gonzaga.
