We are just a good hire away to making the SEC a two team division again....UK and Arkansas.
I'm sorry, I like Arkansas, but that's just delusional. That's the equivalent of Nebraska fans who believe they can go back to becoming a perennial title contender in football. Times change.
Even if/ when Arkansas hires a good coach and becomes consistently good again, the SEC will never be a two team league again. SEC basketball was overall garbage in the 90s, that's not remotely the case now. The rest of the SEC has stepped up big time over the last few years, and as of now and the foreseeable future the SEC is the second best basketball conference behind only the ACC and it's going to be a gauntlet year in and year out

Beard is going to the final four. He’s not going to Arkansas.

Arkansas isn't anywhere near a dumpster fire and will easily make the NCAA tournament next year. Anderson laid a great foundation and left really good young talent.

If Arky hires Beard or Sampson, I believe they'll compete for the league next season tbh.

Arkansas made the SWC step up.Arkansas made the SEC step up when we joined the conference.
Now,we need a coach to get us back to where we were.

I thought that you had sauces?

God Arky is truly the fricking swine of the SEC. Arky athletic budget is roughly 15% higher than Tech and probably equal next year.
Do yourself a favor and never mention Arky in the same breath when it comes to a bidding war with A&m and UT. Stop patronizing other programs that are actually better than you. Take a long look in the mirror and let it sink in that you cannot outbid Tech for your top target. Stop acting like you have accomplished anything or have the Budget to back up your drivel.

It isn't exactly worth the trip either though.

Your athletic budget is about 10% higher than Tech's. STFU you swine. Go patronize someone you actually can. Maybe tulane or Georgia State.

Beard ain’t leaving Tech for Arkansas. He’ll probably be UT’s next coach at some point. Maybe even a blue blood job.
No offense to Arky, but that would be a silly move to go from Tech to Arkansas, risk/reward just doesn’t justify it.

Those of us with a brain agree. The Big12 is essentially a 1 team league now. All he has to compete with is Kansas. He will sit safely until a blue blood job comes open if he is smart

Its hard to crack on you because of your condition, but because my sources say one thing, doesnt mean I have to like or agree with it.
Have your mom explain it to ya.

People don't even understand the way sauces work.
Just because someone's contact says something doesn't mean it will come to pass. These things work like politics. Everyone is backing their favorite guy and the people "in the know" don't all agree on what should be done.
And even if they did agree, it wouldn't mean that whoever it is will actually take the job.

Beard is from Georgia, went to college at Abiline Christian and Texas will be interesting to see if he moves on from Texas Tech Looks to be a hell of a coach, would be great for SEC
Uh, actually Chris Beard played high school basketball the The Woodlands, TX (Houston suburb). Was a team manager for tu under Tom Penders.
He has a Masters from ACU, Abilene, TX.
Except for a short stint at UA Little Rock, he has always coached in Texas.
He is not leaving the state.
He will replace Shaka next year.

And I don't know why people are trying to rag on Arkansas over Chris Beard. Great coach, no doubt, but even if Arkansas can't nab him, they can get someone else who will win titles at Arkansas.
Arkansas had one step back season this year, but unless your name is Kentucky, Arkansas wins more games than you do.
