Tennessee should be in over Alabama, period. Head to head should matter. However, neither team should get in, IMO. Two losses, no conference championship, you should be out.

Alabama lost on the last play of the game on the road twice this year. Tennessee got blown out.

Tennessee has better wins and a better SOS.
On top of the head to head.
Bama has ONE top 25 win

Listen Elizabeth if you are going to talk football you need to know what you are talking about and not just make things up.

According to Sargin's ranking yesterday Alabama is ahead of UT. So what source are you using?

No because all Tennessee fans said after UGA whooped their arse is "different result on a neutral field" essentially arguing that home field advantage should be negated when evaluating results. So with their logic we can safely assume they would have had two losses to both Bama and Florida on neutral fields.
Thereby disavowing Tenners of any and all possible playoff consideration.

I think you’re trolling, but Tennessee lost 2 games by a total of 39 points, and it would have been considerably more if Kirby wouldn’t have slammed on the brakes at halftime. Alabama lost 2 games to Top15 teams by a total of 4 points, one in OT. Bama is a hair away from being 12-0. It’s not a close argument and the pollsters agree.

It's not going to matter. I'm not sure that any of Georgia, Michigan, TCU, or USC can really play their way out, which means that no one else can really play their way in, either.
It'd be hard to put either Alabama or Tennessee in over 1-loss Ohio State, anyway.

Won't happen with their QB out. Just facts.

This is really getting to LSU fans. Most Bama fans know it is a long shot and will move on.

USC definitely could (it would be their second loss and no conference title), but I think Ohio State gets in then. They've kept Penn State highly ranked, so they'll have that as a high quality win regardless. So the Buckeyes are likely the 4th team in if USC loses; I agree that the other three are playing for seeding.
Interestingly enough though, because of their opponents, you could have a playoff with 0 conference champs:
LSU has 3 losses; they won't go even with an SECCG win.
UTAH has 3 losses; they won't go even with a PAC12 CG Win.
KSU has 3 losses; they won't go even with a Big 12 CG win.
Purdue has 4 losses.
Both Clemson and North Carolina are ostensibly out - Clemson has just 2 losses but is unlikely to jump that far with what would literally be their only decent win (beating UNC) - UNC has 3 losses.

Those are playoff rankings?

Sorry but the South Carolina beatdown will keep Tennessee out. As it should.

Exactly.
Lost to Tennessee and LSU. Was gifted the games against Texas and A&M by the refs.
Sit down and STFU.

The most recent playoff rankings included Ole Miss and Texas.
Take your pick, it's 2 either way.

Not by the “eyeball test”
YES - they beat Alabama in a very tight game at home, I get it…
But it was a tight game that could have gone either way, and Tennessee got pistol whipped by South Carolina and Georgia - Bama’s 2 losses were much more competitive
as much as I hate to say it, Bama deserves to be ranked higher than Tennessee despite the head to head loss
