I wouldn’t be shocked if Saban retires this off-season...

He’s 68 and has dealt with consistent coaching turnover for the better part of 5 years. He’s about to have to do it again because of several coaches being fired. To me, he has looked tired all year and hasn’t been himself in press conferences and interviews. The injuries have taken a toll on him and we’ve seen him emotional several times. Do I think him retiring is the most likely scenario? No, but I do think there is a chance and I think it crosses his mind over the next few months.

Yup, he’s done. He knows Ed O has blown past him and at his age he doesn’t have the “want to” to catch back up. He also doesn’t want to deal with the wrath of the gumps

I would agree, but not if Auburn is his last defeat.

No way the REC allows Gus to nail the coffin shut.

I want Saban to turn into a Bowden/Joe Pa.

Legendary coach that doesn’t have it anymore. School has hard time firing him because of who he is so the team just sits in mediocrity

I wouldn’t go so far as to say Ed O has “blown past him” though. That’s getting a little bit carried away. As long as Saban is at Alabama we will be more than competitive.

Why don’t you read a thread fully before replying? The second response in the thread.

So, you’re OK with him overlooking the pedophilia in Tuscaloosa?

He has nothing else to do. He will hang on too long and bama will have to push him out like FSU did with Bowden.

Got proven wrong, then you resorted to passive aggressive responses. Read a thread fully before you respond.

Happy holidays!

Yea a total quitter. I guess it is fitting that a Missouri fan would be an expert on the subject.

I was asking if there was any chatter of that in Alabama. I don’t see anything but you saying you don’t think it will happen then others trolling.

There are zero posts in the thread answering my question regarding the pulse in Alabama on this topic.

Excuse me for trying to have a mature discussion.

Just want to make it clear I’m not a BAMA fan, but come on he’s the best ever. This season he lost 2 games 1 to arguably the best team in the nation and 1 to his biggest rival. I feel sorry for whoever he takes his frustration out in a bowl game. I’d love to be wrong but I just don’t think it’s going to be that easy.

Apparently you and I are on two different wave lengths. I was referring to the notion that O had “blown by” Saban brought about by a poster in this thread. You replied to that post of mine so I assumed that’s what you were referring to. I see now that you were talking about Saban retiring. I’m assuming I’m correct now in that assumption. I have no official sources and so far there has been no rumor of such. It’s just a gut feeling.
