I agree. Florida is wholly capable of beating us. It's not like it's a mismatch. But, if both teams play their best games, then I think Bama comes out on top.
Bama should be able to contain Tebow and Florida doesn't have the offensive weapons to stretch the field like they did last year. After watching both teams play the last few weeks, it appears that Bama is the better team overall.

Meh, I don't know much about much.

I believe we can beat them, but I would be a lot more confident if we had Hightower. He is like having another McClain out there.Hope he makes a full recovery because he will be a big leader on D with McClain leaving.

you know Arkansas should have won. We all do. He's rightly butthurt. that has to be the officials' highlight of the year for worst job.
Probably true. But even had Arkansas won, Florida would still be in this game. And probably a one loss Florida could still make the BCSCG.

without question. obviously i still think Florida is a better team than Arkansas. UF just wasn't clicking or playing their A game when they paired up against Ark. i was just trying to throw a bone to the pained arky fan. i mean, regardless of why, he's pulling for us!

This is going to be fun. I will say this. Tebow and the rest of the Gators didn't return for anything but another title, so I am willing to bet the Gators you see now and the Gators you see in Atlanta are going to look a little different.
Florida's season starts in 3 weeks.

Last year...I deep down knew Florida had the better team but felt we may be able to pull the upset with a little luck. Well this year we've taken a step forward and Florida has stayed the same (or taken a slight step backwards). I honestly think we win this year. Not trying to be a homer but I think Bama is the most physical team and thats what wins it for us. Last year Florida won the game with a finesse thats just not there this year. It can go either way...but I'll take Bama 17-14 in a physical showdown.

A lot of this talk about UF centers around perception of what UF SHOULD look like. However, we still have in the SEC:
#1 rushing offense, #2 in passing efficiency, #1 3rd down conversions, #3 total offense and scoring offense (behind Arky and Auburn)
#1 scoring defense, #1 total defense, #2 rush defense, #1 pass defense, #1 sacks
#1 kickoff returns
#1 rushing offense, #2 in passing efficiency, #1 3rd down conversions, #3 total offense and scoring offense (behind Arky and Auburn)
#1 scoring defense, #1 total defense, #2 rush defense, #1 pass defense, #1 sacks
#1 kickoff returns

Unless you take out the out of conference cupcakes.
In SEC play only:
Rushing offense
UF #2 205.75 ypg and 4.66 ypc
Bama #4 195.14 and 5.06 ypc
Passing efficiency
UF #1 65.9% and 198.1 ypg
Bama #2 60.8% and 200.7 ypg
3rd Down Conversions
UF #3 at 38.45%
Bama #7 at 33.66%
Total offense
UF #5 at 375 ypg
Bama #4 at 377 ypg
Scoring offense
UF #2 at 27.6 ppg
Bama #4 at 26 ppg
Scoring Defense
UF #2 with 12.0 ppg
Bama #1 with 9 ppg
Total Defense
UF #1 with 234.6 ypg
Bama #2 with 264.6 ypg
Rush Defense
UF #2 with 96.88 ypg
Bama #1 with 88.14 ypg
Pass Defense
UF #1 with 137.8 ypg with a completion percentage of 51.5%
Bama #7 with 176.4 with a completion percentage of 45.6%
Sacks
UF #1 with 3.25 per game
Bama #4 with 2.43 per game
BUT SACKS ALLOWED
UF #10 with 2.75 per game
Bama #2 with 0.86 per game
Kickoff returns
UF #11 with 22.25 ypr
Bama #1 with 25.71 ypr
See, it makes a big difference if we just count SEC games. Also, Bama has one more SEC game to play that should help those stats.

In almost all of those stats, UF is still better than Bama, furthering my point that the perception that UF is struggling is a product of media created expectations.

Really? Because I counted it as UF with 7 and Bama with 5. Is that "almost all" of those stats?
Not to mention that some of those stats are a little skewed, like rushing offense. You rush for slightly more yards per game, but we rush for more per carry. So, who is really better there?

I believe Bama will beat the Gators. We(Arky) gave the Gators all that we can handle at the Swamp with young talent. I think Bama's defense will be a big factor in this game. I feel if Bama force Tebow to pass, Bama will win by alot.

You have rushed for a whole 0.4 ypc more than UF. I don't see a very big difference there.
My point is that there is a perception that UF's offense is struggling mightily (you can't turn on the TV without hearing it), when in fact it ranks at the top of the conference in most statistical categories.

Tebow will not allow a UF loss. I think the refs are fully aware & a little intimidated...OK a lot intimidated. So Bama, prepare to be raped by bogus calls, as LSU was in our game with you. You can't fight it, so just lay back and enjoy the experience.

Bama whips the lesser competition, and struggles with decent defenses. That tells me they are what they are what, they are, and are maxed out. The fact that we consistently underperform, regardless of the talent on the field, leads me to believe, we are still getting better. We took care of turnovers, and now our red zone production is improving.
We continue to lay eggs, and we still manage to win in double digits (except for that 4 turnover, missing, missing assignments, poor execution, 3 point victory).
Florida will repeat, this team just refuses to lose. They are a well oiled machine, that hasn't reach their capacity.
