Here’s the twist: Frazier is staying with UGA.
Ohio State is simply driving up the cost – it’s a tax. Frazier is no longer receiving the “I play for UGA” discount.

damn right we do....would have been better if we went 2-10 like the Razorbacks and didnt have to worry about playoffs or bowl games.

The Big money from the big boosters isn't going to stay around long under the current system. They will and have gotten tired of paying big money just to watch those players bolt for other schools and rivals.

Which is why Im glad Notre Dame isnt buying players in the portal and still trying to win with recruiting. Notre Dame gets 67 million dollars a year from NBC and the ACC before even counting any money from donors. They could buy fourteen 5 star players in the portal at 5 million/year each without even breaking a sweat....and they could do that every single year.

Whatever, Bowens is better
That’s very debatable, and regardless of that argument, Frazier + Bowens is a heck of a 2 headed monster.

Georgia with 20 5 stars was so fun for them, but now that the talent goes everywhere, it’s a crap system for blue bloods.
Agree. Very glad to see some new blood in the championship this year. Surprised there is no SEC rep, but I’ll be watching.

IMO, a huge reason for the NIL and portal is to hurt the domination of the SEC. It's working....

Not suprised SEC fans are giving up.
first, let's clear up something ! I'm an LSU fan, not an SEC fan.
secondly, your non-conference football team hasn't won $hit in decades.
no thanks to you for sending that POS head coach to LSU.
hopefully my Tigers will meet your Leprechauns on the gridiron and steal your pot of gold as payback.

Some of you UGA fans are actually right on the money in that the real issue is the portal and not NIL. I saw the future and how the portal would change the sport 4 years ago and was shocked that the SEC and BIG didn’t immediately try and squash it - but the problem was all the media attention went towards the NIL side of the equation since it’s more flashy to talk about money. Now that the portal has been validated by the court it’s not going back, although just like coaches leaving, it will be all about contract negotiations in the future. And like in the pros, no coach will want to force a disgruntled player to stay if they want out.
The problem you guys have is everyone now understands where the advantage has been for the SEC with buying players and then being able to hoard them. It built the SEC but now that everyone sees it they won’t let it go back that way. So, yes, I totally understand the angst of a generation of SEC fans who was sold an illusion from 2006 to 2022 when your conference dominated. The rest of the country figured out the scheme and made it legal and allowed players to transfer and now we see the door is open for 50 to 60 teams to rebuild every year if they choose.
Ultimately, the sport is much healthier when more fanbases have hope but that hope is paid for at the expense of other fanbases who will be losing more games than they have in the past 25 years.

There is likely some truth to what you are saying about an injection of new viewership for a handful of new contenders. It will be interesting to see if this pays off viewership wise. If the obsession with college football in the South begins to wane slightly especially if the dominance of the B1G continues, can the likely emerging tv markets offset the losses in the South

I just wish they would do 2 things.
A) A player can only transfer one time during college career
B) NIL money has to be capped
if they can fix these two things then I will be back on the College Football bandwagon
