But the musical Quarterback in the Red Zone is all on Mullen, what an absolutely stupid way to call a game when one Quarterback is on fire. Everyone knows that when someone is in a rhythm just keep them in the game, and he took Kyle completely out of his rhythm by trying to put in Emory for ???? reasons.

Really stupid playcalling by Mullen and very likely was the difference between a possession game and a two possession loss.

You say it much more eloquently than I but that’s exactly what I was saying. Trask was on fire and we couldn’t stop him. Then his rhythm got thrown off. Also, being pulled makes a young guy who has the hole team on his shoulders feel he was pulled for not being good enough and makes him push too hard when he does get back in the game to try and show his coach he can be the starter and the number one. It was a game changer.

I mean, it was a 14 point game and we ended the game on the one yard line and threw a pick in the Red Zone.

This was not a "beat the everliving shite out of" win. It's not like it was 19 - 0 or something.

He lost that game
The game turned on the 4th qrt interception in the endzone and LSU scored on 3 plays. 14 pt swing. Burrow led a streaking receiver that could not have been thrown any better. High, good touch, plenty of air, ran under it, soft landing, receiver didn't break stride.

It didn't have an effect in the first half but when it did it had the worst effect -- it made Kyle have to do everything faster. Third and one, Kyle has to run off of the bench, give the play, get everyone set, read the defense, try to make adjustments at the line to see what kind of zone they're showing (he couldn't do this part because he had to jog back onto the field a little late) and of course we saw what happened.

We'll be fine if we just avoid doing that every game going forward. Kyle's perfect for what we need since we have no push on the offensive line, we just have to game plan around him and Mullen needs to stop being stubborn.

Even if you lose because of injuries (thought they didn’t), you still act professional and give all credit to the other team first.

Coach post game press conference 101.

I totally agree. On this board there is a lot of ribbing and clowning. But when a man wants to talk real football, I can appreciate that.

LSU didn’t beat the shite out of Florida. It was a hard fought game and one I would not want to repeat this season.

We won by the first score because Joe is a special player. We won be the second score because of Mullen fricking up your offense rhythm and throwing water on the fire of the Florida offense.

You are a great team. Trask is a good QB, much better than I thought. I hope you the best forward. Mullen is still a punk though.

This is one of the reasons I get really frustrated about the rant. I mean it's all good and fun but when we're talking x's and o's let's talk x's and o's.

Burrow is a fantastic Quarterback and I have always liked how he behaves. He seems complimentary and from what I saw it will be very difficult if not impossible to stop that offense going forward.

I kind of like that our coach bothers people, but I have infinite respect for how Orgeron behaves and always seems to give props to the other team.

Does Trask have another year of eligibility? If he does, I can’t see why he wouldn’t be your starter next year. He would shine in our new offensive philosophy. Hell, if you don’t want him, I wouldn’t mind one bit to see him give it a try at LSU since Joe is a senior. Lol.

Is it wrong to say that missing Pierce, Greenard and Toney for the game and having Zuniga with limited play time had an impact?

Yes!! Never, ever, ever make excuses! He needs coaching lessons from the great Skip Bertman.

Yes its wrong. What he should of said was we got beat fair and square but instead he made injuries as his excuse on why they lost. Your a Top 5 power school in football with backups that could start for most schools. Quit using injuries as an excuse.

...I said it way back when that Florida is a better team with Trask than Franks.... I’m not sure how Franks beat out Trask for the starting job in the 1st place.. I understand that Franks is a dual threat but you have to have something between the ears to succeed at QB... Florida is still a dangerous team and may finish out the year with just one loss...especially if Trask plays like he has the last few games...

Exactly. Although I never liked him, just thought he was decent.

Why would you take the time to watch the press conference of the other team's coach? I don't even care what Mullen says, it is going to be a bunch of coach speak.
