OP -

With all due respect, you are an idiot.

If Chizik was a good coach, he would be a success elsewhere right now.

Same with Terry Bowden and Tommy Tuberville.

Auburn has never fired a coach too early. We know when to cut bait.

I think Gus gives Auburn everything they want their program to be: a potential spoiler for Alabama and Nick Saban once every few years

Gross oversimplification. They were bad the year before too. He was absolutely slaughtered his last 4 games vs their 2 main rivals

45-7
42-14
38-0
49-0

Totally exposed without Gus and Cam. Still don’t understand why the hired him. Before O it was the most baffling hire I can remember a Big 6 school making

No, Gus has had AU in the conversation. Three out of five seasons he has had AU in the Top Four in late October. Only Bama/Saban can match that in the SEC.

and there's qbs lined up for years coming in

You’re talking about second-chance QB retreads, correct? Cause Auburn doesn’t utilize QBs they recruited and developed in the traditional way. And they certainly don’t win with them.

Aside from his first season, what conversation? Teams that are good but not great? I didn't know that was a conversation

I actually like Gene Chizik as an SEC Network analyst.

That is what he should be doing and not being a head coach.

When opposing fans think you should keep your coach you know it’s time to go.

2014, AU was #4 in the Playoff poll and in 2017 they were #2.

This is spot on

Gus left the cupboard bare when he left in 2012

Chizik inherited a quagmire that year

The real reason is that he lost 42-14 and 49-0 his last two Iron Bowls. That's what matters at AU.

The fact he went winless in the SEC, and the team quit on him, had no bearing in the decision.

Chiz is a great DC. He is a great person. He is not a good HC.

So 5 years and AU has won the West twice, won the SEC, played in the BCSNCG, played the #1 ranked team in the country 5 times, winning 3 times, and been ranked in the top 4 of the playoff rankings or BCS in 3 of his 5 years.

Hmmm. We know no other coach in the SEC has a comparable resume except maybe Saban's first 5 years at LSU which were probably similar, albeit in a much weaker West at the time.
