I still can't wrap my head around Kiffin not going for it on 4th and inches

Dude has always taken the aggressive route almost to a fault and you don't try to end the game on 4th and inches? Doesn't make sense

It was yard. On his side of the 50. Punting is the high percentage play. We just drove down.

Higher pressure to win at LSU. Paid $50M in NIL, and they expect results.

You can see he's trying to draw us offside, and we just held our ground.

Then he takes the timeout and second-guesses himself because he thinks we know the play. Stein got in his head.

I get the thinking. Punt them deep and rely on your D. The UK K had just missed two fgs in the last 5 minutes of game time. However, it does seem pretty out of character.

Probably the right call. Make Kentucky drive the field then kick with a kicker who had shanked 2. Rather than a short field with a team going for the endzone and the win.

He has gone for 4th and 2+ on his side of the field numerous times at Ole Miss. He bitched out last night

It's either Sankey's or BK's fault. Has to be.

I've wondered if Kiffin could actually withstand a high pressure job like LSU.

Coaching at Ole Miss where the fanbase is just happy win or lose is a completely different situation than being at a pressure cooker job.

It was a yard. It was the right call. They were up by 3.

Look, LSU and Giffin were losing that game either way. Giffin knew if he punted it he could get the gullible and ignorant LSU fan base to blame his DC.

Ole Miss lane goes for that 100% of the time. Was really odd to watch that unfold live. He may already be feeling the pressure.

I think this is it, already.

He’s not a hot, young up-and-comer like he was when at (granted, top tier programs) UT and USC. He’s not giving the NFL a try. He’s not at programs where he can kind of play in a sandbox like FAU and OM. He’s not under Saban’s supervision.

This is finally the real real deal and he’s got to produce.

LSU had every opportunity to win the game throughout.

We lost on big plays and special teams.

I hope something changes in officiating this year. The SEC as a whole has been pretty poor. I watched the game through an LSU lens and saw block in the backs not called which led to the punt return for a touchdown.

I’m sure Kentucky fans can point out plays that went LSU’s way that should have been called.

We need full time refs who get an annual salary and train year round. There is too much sports betting going on to not think that an $1000 ref won’t bet through a 3rd party and influence a game through a non call sooner or later. It’s already happened in basketball.

I have been saying since LSU hired him, just wait til Kiffin makes a bonehead 4th down call in a close game. I knew it was coming! He has always done stuff like this.
