Bama would have been setup fricking perfect if Saban retired in 2020. He would have went out on top with an undefeated season and championship and Sark could have stepped up and took the HC spot and retained everything. And that was before the NIL machine took off that is the root of all of this chaos.
I love Coach Saban but with hindsight seeing how this is playing out, him retiring after winning the 2020 season would have been ideal for Bama.
That’s how it goes when considering hindsight though. Looking back it’s obvious that I shouldn’t have let that hot seductress peg my arse to avoid her blackmailing me by holding that over my head. Epstein style blackmail man. frick that bitch she was wrong for that. Anyways, Roll Tide
Sark?
The same Sark who was headcoach at Washington for 4 years, and earned the nickname 7 win Sark? Who was immediately replaced by Chris Petersen who turned around and took them to the playoffs while Sark went down to USC only to have a disappointing season and get fired?
Now he spent 3 years at Texas, averaged 7 wins his first 2 seasons. Makes it to the playoff his 3rd season, only to lose in the semi's to the same school he averaged 7 wins a season at, to a team that was less talented, and to the coach you think he should have been hired over?
That Sark?

I see some parallels to the breaking down of the individuals, akin to entering military service. Those who remain, want to play for the University and it's new coaching staff.
Also, I'm pleased with the youth and energy coming in and will be most interested to see how disciplined the team is. Will they be last in penalties next season? We may all be surprised to see a team, not a collection of talent playing.

This is either extreme hubris or just incompetence. Why would Bama need a rebuild like this?
I’m not sure how to explain this any simpler. Alabama had the best roster in the country, according to 247. Everyone signed with Nick Saban as head coach. Nick Saban retired at age 72 after the season concluded. A special portal opened for the players to leave. Many have entered the portal without even having a conversation with the new coach who hasn’t even been in Alabama for a week.
All these losses could be a result of hubris or incompetence on the part of the new staff. But I think the more likely explanation is that the special portal rules, the amount of coveted players on Alabama’s roster, and the loss of the goat who got them on campus in the first place have led to this.

I placed the largest bet of my life on Alabama -5 against Michigan so I jinxed them so bad they not only lost but their program collapsed

Why don’t you process the Georgia loss in the sec championship game?
Alabama processed a win over Georgia in the SEC Championship game into finishing the year ranked behind Georgia.
How does that even happen? I mean, that is some impressive incompetence.

It’s not really that important to anyone else that you can’t process the Bama transition.
