I guess Chase Daniel wasn’t moving the needle too much anymore

Some of us have, or had family that played.

The official reason is stadium construction, but, i do think because of the portal and NIL, this is a growing trend. Teams are trying to hide potential young talent from other teams ahead of the spring transfer period.

Then play it at Rock Bridge HS or another top high school program stadium

Feel bad for the families who used these to take their kids.
No concern at all for inebriated fans using profanity towards the other team, and the kids faces I barked in always laughed.

Yes.

Nope only pussy schools cancel spring games ….

Seems strange…. You can structure the “game” any way you want to… why cancel?

If you actually believe this, you’re not that bright.

You are not that bright. Stadium construction is the reason and it's going to be the reason next year as well.

You’re not that bright. Stadium construction is definitely not the reason you can’t host it. Arkansas did a significantly bigger construction project than Mizzou and still hosted a spring game. It’s not that complicated. It’s just a convenient excuse to save face while spring games are getting cancelled right and left due to NIL. Sorry you believe everything spoon fed to you on your local partisan message board.

better than FSU folding like origami after they got "snubbed"

They’re so scared of being exposed, they won’t even play themselves.

If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, does it really make a noise?

It is becoming a big trend and I would not be shocked if the Bama's of the world follow suit. I would imagine that the schools will open up something to the fans to attend. It is a glorified scrimmage anyway so give out tickets to some of the OTA's. Which is the pro term for their off season training and practices etc. I would not be surprised if a team like Troy or UAB is brought in for some scrimmage work.

Hopefully Florida keeps theirs, we’re planning on going. There’s a new student you on Monday that next week…I think.

It is starting to be a trend. Has anyone else canceled their game in the SEC?
Can't totally blame any head coach who tries to avoid conducting scrimmages with the intent to establish starters and backups. The better the look for players the more entitled they become. These days that means a quick trip into the magic portal to find immediate playing time and to get what they believe they deserve. In other words, let the bidding begin. It's hard to imagine any head coach wanting to avoid that NIL/spring portal reality.

It’s awkward though, the players only have leverage (to increase their NIL $) if they’re willing to transfer. I hope my son’s agent doesn’t play that card…I guess outside of that all he has is the contract values of kids at other schools (because he’s their agent as well). That’s sort of some inside info that the schools AD doesn’t have.

It still blows my mind that these teenagers have agents.

That contract isn’t with us involved either…he’s 18 so his was the only signature. Going to be really awkward…payment is due 10 days after my son gets his first NIL check…but I guess it’s monthly and something he’ll have to keep up with (he’ll get paid very little until next spring). No telling if he gets commission off the base check amount, because he was going to get that without an agent.
I just hope he doesn’t get behind. He’s never had a job or paid a bill in his life. Guessing that’s par for the course with these kids now.
