Tray Blackmon is nothing, I repeat, nothing like Darvin Adams.
He left school to support his kids, so there's one thing they have in common.

Darvin is a class act and a hard worker.
Being a swell guy doesn't get you drafted or even on a team...

He also wouldn't have even started his senior year. Josh Bynes took over for him. He was never the playmaker on defense that Darvin was on offense. I don't think he even tried to go to the NFL. I went straight to the CFL.

Blackmon's star-crossed college career included injuries and suspensions. He missed 17 games in three years because of those issues. He finished his Auburn career with 84 tackles.
He may have left because of his children, but he had much more issues.

Because a team is stupid doesn't mean that Julio will be great.

Yeah, Jamarcus Russell is a good example.

Smart man, Adams could learn from him.

Apparently not.
Unless he isn't really a hardworker because he still wasn't wanted by all 32 teams. And WRs are 1 of the most drafted positions...

They won't know until they actually bring him in for a try-out.
There's nothing that you can say that will convince me that Darvin will be a bust. I'm not even sure how he would "bust" since he went undrafted in the first place..

What's bad is that unlike WR, corner is a position where you can't just post some stats and say "see he is not a bust." He could have an absolutely dominant season this coming year and half the uneducated football fans on this board would post a youtube video of one catch and say he was overrated.

Career numbers
Julio Jones
179 receptions, 2653 yards, 15 TDs
10 carries, 139 yards, 2 TDs
AJ Green
166 receptions, 2619 yards, 23 TDs
7 carries, 105 yards

AJ Green played in 32 games. Julio played in 40.
Their stats are so close because AJ played in 8 less games than Julio.
Julio
4.5 recs/game
66 yds/game
0.38 TDs/game
AJ
5.2 recs/game
82 yds/game
0.72 TDs/game
ETA: Not saying I wouldn't have wanted either on AU's sideline. I have yet to see this posted and it something to consider instead of just posting career numbers.

It's called post season interviews, everyone who was somewhat interested got to see what they wanted with DA.
Apparently they didn't like what they saw because again, he went undrafted.

That's your problem, not mine. I got over the "He was my favorite player so he'll do good in the NFL" complex a few years ago.

You're the one saying bust

Didn't a bama fan start a thread last summer saying Dre was better than Ray Lewis? And then bama fans wonder why people get sick of it and a backlash develops?

An interview =/= A workout on the field
He couldn't work out much leading up to the draft because of his injured hamstring.

He wasn't my favorite player, not even top 3..

"Darvin will amount to nothing", my bad.

ACL started it, and it was Ro > Ray... Then you have Alahunter saying Ingram > Bo Jackson and McElroy > Manning.

Dre Kirkpatrick sucks, he's overrated, and he won't be a 1st rounder...

I was just letting Monty know who it was that said it, since it wasn't an alter..

You misinterpret "interview".
There are live drills that they get him to run, which in essence is the way you interview a football player.
quote:
He couldn't work out much leading up to the draft because of his injured hamstring.
Javier Arenas injured his hamstring running the 40 AT the Combine and it bothered him going forward into the Pro Day so much that he didn't participate. Still didn't stop him from coasting off his onfield performance and being drafted 2nd round.
What's Darvin's excuse?
quote:
He wasn't my favorite player, not even top 3..
As much as you've talked about him the last 2-3 years, I heavily doubt that.

"Darvin will amount to nothing", my bad.
Which is likely of an UDFA, odds show it. It's less and less likely as we move forward with technology that undrafted players become contributors to NFL teams. There's a chance, but it's not great or even good...
