I seem to recall a whole lot of fans on here last year after the nov. game saying how Miles owned Saban. So no need to question fan emotions.
You're not saying that Miles is a better coach than Saban are you? I can't believe a Bama fan would say that either. Link or gtfo?

OK...LSU was not responsible for other teams not handling business in 2007, which gave LSU the opportunity to get into the game with 2 losses.
The difference is 2007 LSU was the SEC champ with a strong resume and was most deserving team at the end.
2011 Bama was a division runner up with a weaker resume than the Big 12 champ and had already list at home to LSU.
2011 Bama is really an exact situation as 2006 Michigan.

The SECr is already starting to suck.

seeing this still just makes me laugh because every relevant team other than Ohio St also had two losses and we destroyed Ohio St in the NC. Is it our fault other teams lost twice as well
do you guys really not see the irony when you say things like this and then say bama had no right to play in the game last year? Every relevant team last year had at least 1 loss, and bama was pretty obviously they best 1 loss team at the end of the year

KY was decent bowl team that year and the success of a season can also be measured by wins.
In 2006 Mich only lost to #1 OSU by 3 but was passed by USC and Florida bc the idea of a rematch after a Nov loss is stupid when there is a deserving conference champ available.

I've always said UA should be there. The way you lose to an ISU is to have a D so horrid, their FBS ranking has 3 numbers. It just sucks that we entered the game as SEC champion and had to beat the same team twice (UA sig not withstanding). But that's the rules everyone signed onto in 98. Done deal. Hoping to see if club can repeat, and it appears it will come down to 11/3, again, to have a chance.

Awful lot (about 85%) "not worried" Gumper's flocking to this thread like a moth to a flame to say how unworried they are!

Make or break on a real dynasty most likely. Pretty big game.

2011 Alabama was NOTHING like 2006 Michigan. 2006 Michigan lost their very last game of the season. 2011 Alabama still had 3 games left and more importantly had every team immediately ahead of and behind them lose to lesser opponents than Bama did. Alabama also destroyed their entire schedule except for LSU by an average margin of victory of 30+ points per game. The two situations aren't even remotely similar.

2006 was more like LSU 2007 than 2011 Bama. Michigan lost the last week of the regular season. Bama lost the 1st week in Nov. All of the teams above Bama lost afterwards thus Bama moved back up.
LSU lost the last game of the regular season just like UM, but the SEC had a championship game unlike the BIG10.
I guess LSU win over a UT team that had been blown out 3 times that year was enough to elevate them back to # 2.

Halftime scores:
Alabama 31, Michigan 7
Alabama 21, Western Kentucky 0
Alabama 24, Arkansas 0
Alabama 30, Florida Atlantic 0
Alabama 27, Ole Miss 7
Alabama 28, Missouri 7
Avg score: 26.8 - 3.5
LSU 24, North Texas 7
LSU 20, Washington 3
LSU 28, Idaho 14
LSU 9, Auburn 10
LSU 17, Towson 9
LSU 6, Florida 0 (lost)
LSU 3, South Carolina 7
Avg score: 17.8 - 8.3
I presume everyone has their starters playing in the first half.
LSU looks very beatable. In SEC games, the Tigers have managed 9 points combined against Florida and South Carolina. If one were inclined to excuse that as "yeah, but those are two great defenses", then I present this to you: LSU 9, Auburn 10. Seems like a pattern to me.
All of Alabama's games have been over by halftime. Meanwhile, LSU is breaking out the first-string in the second half to fend off Towson and 1-5 Auburn or getting run over by Florida.
LSU could very well beat Alabama, but the OP is a farking moron to believe it's a foregone conclusion.

Getting beat by a sub-.500 team is not deserving. That's why they did the right thing and skipped over the Fightin' Gundys.
