Is that the National Champ USC Trojans?
If it isn’t, it should be.
#3 USC beat #2 Tennessee 14-0 in the Rose Bowl
The #1 team beat TULANE by 1 point in the Sugar Bowl.
USC = 1939 National Champs

Decided before the bowls, but really should have been UT. They were the prior champions and went through the regular season unbeaten and unscored upon.

lol, this from the guy who's school claims the 1970 NC when you got blown out by Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl. A&M was #1 and had to play SEC Champ Tulane in New Orleans. USC basically had a home game with Tennessee traveling across the country at a time when that wasn't a fun trip.
It was long ago but that Aggie team was special, they all served in WWII as well.

Was not the champ, that was UT 6-0>5-0 for determining SEC Champ

Even back then they clutched their own nuts.
