Resources =/= wins

ehh above .500. You don't get to count 3 of those wins.

regardless we have won 9 of the last 18. Before that we were 2 of 19...so are you so sure you still have the resource advantage?

100k or 85k stadium...that doesnt matter, our facilities are top notch now. We are winning at a much higher clip than you guys. 8 losing seasons vs 4. (4) 11 win seasons vs (0). I mean even with Muschamp we still clear yall easy. College football does not need you, and hasnt had you in 25 years. Your program is irrelevant. Take that from someone who knows what its like to watch an irrelevant program.

The only few I’ll say is better is when FSU, USCw, and Michigan are good. That mostly just because of who they challenge when good. It’s fun watching Clemson get challenged and Ohio State gets challenged. Then for USCw it’s nice to have a top tier program out west. Oregon and UCLA helps make it fun out there.

You are confusing resources with wins. The university of South Carolina will never match the money or infrastructure of UT. It’s just a fact.

It’s no secret VOLS have sucked for 15 years. Does that mean that all the sudden SC has more resources? No. In that 15 years, did you actually win anything, or just beat up on some crappy teams? Because that is the point. SC will never be a long-term challenge to a big 6 team (except when said big 6 teams completely runs their football program into the ground for a decade and a half). You know how I know?

VOLS 28-11-2
LSU 19-2-1
UGA 54-19-2
Bama 11-4
Auburn 10-3-1
UF 30-10-3

ok sure, a team that was one loss away from the playoff, beat Clemson in the Orange Bowl, and finished 6 is "irrelevant"

It was more fun watching Bama fans deal with DuBose, Fran, Price, Shula than Saban.

That's all I got.

In the past 15 years, SC has exceeded VOLS win total only 6 times, and not within the past 5.

"much higher clip"

All losses aren't equal, hoss.

TCU was one loss away from a national title.

Remember when your best team ever didn’t even make it to Atlanta?

These historical stats don't mean a lot at face value. SC didnt have the resources until joining the SEC. At that point it was playing catchup.

since 2000 a majority of these matchups are far closer. You can act like youre still winning the arms race just because from 25-50 years ago you were a dominant team that was winning the arms race, but programs change. Before Spurrier I am sure the thought was that UF was never going to win anything. Winning changes things.

CFB doesnt need Tennessee to be good and just because they were a long time ago doesnt mean they will be again. CFB doesnt need SC to be bad, and just because we have never reached a title game doesnt mean its not possible

its a damn good series thats fun to watch. It was a fun halloween game (I hate its not). But be honest, you didnt used to worry about SC, and that was because we were a bad program. When Spurrier showed up you worried a little bit. The (3) 11 win seasons proved it could be done. Had he not been on the verge of retirement, I have zero doubts that he could have kept success going. There is nothing to say that a program like SC or Mizzou couldnt find that sustained success and push Bama just fine. It doenst have to be UT or Auburn

be good. Just heard Doering say it about Tennessee and Auburn. Why? We can't all be good. If all of the historically good/great teams are good/great, then doesn't that mean we need all the teams who are historically bad or average to continue to be bad or average?

Makes no sense.

I could not agree more. No one has a birthright to be good just because of what their name is or the color of their uniforms.

Some team will always fill the vacancy when some "name brand" falls by the wayside.

The media is all in on the old brand names. I think that is the reason Texas is back almost every pre-season.
And we all know that Nebraska is just the next coach away from being the next best thing.
