Don't know about his parents, but Quan Bray comes from a family where at least some members have a college education. His uncle was a long time high school coach in Georgia. In fact, his uncle was Reuben Foster's high school coach while Reuben played ball in Georgia
Quan also got his car shortly after his mother was killed. Who knows what type of life insurance she might have had

My only argument would be that if the cars are illegal benefits wouldn't there be a condition that they player be discrete in how they publicize receipt of the gift? In other words, don't draw attention to the fact that you just got a new car or we will take it back.
The way they do it, there's no way the NCAA can prove a booster paid for it. If the NCAA can't prove it, flaunt it all you want. They can't do anything about it.

if this was 2001-2002 Alabama would have been on severe probation already. Fluker, cars, cash. Its obvious.

For the record, I really don't care how he got it. I was just pointing out the glass walls to the stone thrower.

Bama boosters and coaches are well past the point of giving a frick about ncaa violations. The ncaa isn't interested in going after bama anymore and bama knows it.

I would think "lack of institutional control" is just broad and subjective enough that the ncaa wouldn't need much "proof" if they really wanted to nail you. You'd think these boosters would tell the kids to keep it on the fricking Downlow.

Probably is. But in a lot of cases, these kids don't come from backgrounds that afforded many luxuries. Put an 18, 19 or 20 year old kid in a new car and good luck trying to keep him from showing it off on social media.

Give a guy an illegal benefit and then take it back...providing even less incentive for him to keep quiet about how he got it or why it disappeared.

You tell them we will take it back you don't necessarily do it. You could also say the gravy train will be over if this mishandle the situation.
Love how on one hand Bama is omnipotent and controls CF but on the other we are beholden to every 4 star kid who suits up for enternity lest they drop the dime on us. Which is it?
