Thanks dingleberry. The 2nd image looks close. The shot I saw was from a different angle, more of a head on shot. The hand was over the facemask but could not tell if it was actually touching like I said.
Keep watching the replay....maybe you'll find other examples that kinda sorta look like a hand might graze a facemask or something. Maybe you will see an innocuous hit to Tua's forearm/thigh that might kinda look like targeting his knee cap.
Oh, look....Jeffrey Simmons just got tackled again!

Something I just realized while watching the replay, not only did they call the phantom block in the back, they didn’t call it a TD either. They marked it down at the 1.
Does this mean the ref got two bonus checks on 1 play, or does it only count as 1?

Well they must have been color blind 2 weeks ago because it was blatantly obvious who was getting the officiating edge in Baton Rouge and LSU still lost by 30 points.

The initial view from behind the official looked like a block in the back. The MSU players reaction didn't help his case. I officiated for a few years, I would have made the same call from his position. Anyone who ever officiated any sport will tell you, the recommended position is best in the majority of plays. Unfortunately there are a few plays in a game where it simply isn't.

You either see it or you dont, you don't guess. That is not that hard if a standard.

This probably explains why you don't officiate anymore.

It's a corrupt conference. Plain and simple.

Some of those scores? They scored ONCE.

So are you suggesting that the president of the University of Missouri is also a stooge, in the likes of those at LSU, Auburn, and MSU?
If all of this bias that people have been yapping about for years is really true, at some point someone in a position to do something about it...not message board posters...would actually be talking about it.

Being reported today.

Coach Moreheadsaid his coaches from the booth told him not to waste a TO. They said his knee was down on the early call.

Yeah, maybe being reported by dumbasses.
David Smith, the #2 rated referee in the league and former Bama QB, never officiates Alabama games.
But whatever.

You could have let State start on the Bama 35 all night long and they STILL would not have won that game. Fitzgerald probably has cleat marks from the DL kicking his arse. You had no run game.
That all world center could not block Q Williams. He had no chance. The allegedly most physical offensive line in the conference got NO movement up front. They could not run block. They could not pass block.
What is happening is the young Alabama D that had growing pains at the start of the season is rapidly growing up and that does not bode well for our future opponents. Let us get a couple more guys back like Lewis and God help some people. We are nicked up right now on O but let us get healed up and see what happens.

From behind which official? The one standing right there threw the flag. Doesn’t look like he saw the “block” because he was watching the ball carrier then reacted. Then he missed the TD because I guess he was watching the Bama player on the ground and not the ball carrier.

The allegedly most physical offensive line in the conference, the one that kicked Alabama's all-world defensive line's collective asses up and down the field last year, hasn't been physical at all this year since the great JoMo took over. It's a damn shame.

The idea that the SEC Office is nothing but Bama fans is stupid and has already been debunked multiple times.
It has, but the fact that the two most important SEC office employees regarding football are both UA alumni. That is a fact.

LOL - you ran for like 3.5 YPC against Keith Holcombe and a true freshman MLB who had no idea where to go.
Raise the banner!

Here's the rule about blocking in the back:
"Block in the Back
ARTICLE 4. a. A block in the back is contact against an opponent occurring
when the force of the initial contact is from behind and above the waist.
When in question, the contact is at or below below the waist"
We've already established that the State player made contact...however lightly it may have been...he did touch the Alabama defender in the back.
You can complain that it shouldn't have been called. You can complain that he barely touched him. You can complain about it being nitpicky and costing you a TD.
But tell us where in the rule I just quoted it says anything about how much force he has to contact him with.
If you can't do that, then you may as well STFU.
