Must suck to be down so bad you have to carve up stats
Alabama leads the series 50–37–1
It must suck to only be up 13 games on such a middling program.
bear IB record................19-6
saban IB record.................12-5
now do the IB record math.

Bear or Saban coached 42 of 88 Iron Bowls ever played. So you can’t just leave them out of the equation. Ears Whitworth was 0-3 against Auburn. Bill Curry was 0-3 against Auburn. Shula was 0-4 against Auburn. They are responsible for almost a third of all of Auburn’s Iron Bowl wins. You should send those last two guys a Christmas card every year.

They aren't left out. You act like bama has thoroughly dominated Auburn. That is absolutely false. bear and saban dominated Auburn. As for the rest of your IB history, you have a losing record.

Only two Auburn coaches in the last 120 years have a winning record against Alabama. Tuberville was 7-3 against Alabama. Bowden was 3-2. Since 1903 those are the only Auburn head coaches that have a winning record against Alabama.
You named your stadium after a guy that went 9-16 against Alabama. And you named your field after a guy that went 6-6 against Alabama.
We can do this all night if you like.

he's really not much more than above average as a coach
Freeze' best ability was cheating but since now everyone can cheat, he's really fricked. He won't last at Auburn more than 2 more years unless they realize Auburn == Freeze and Freeze == Auburn.

if you are interested in reading what a true hero is. How dare we name our stadium after somebody like this?
keep embarrassing yourself.

I never said that Shug Jordan was not a courageous veteran. If I wanted someone to lead me into battle against the Nazis or Japanese he would have been a fine choice. As his record of 9-16 shows he wasn’t as good a choice against Alabama.
You are wanting to exclude Alabama’s two best coaches from the conversation. I don’t,care about doing the same for Auburn because neither of Auburn’s best coaches had a winning record against Alabama.
And that, in a nutshell, is the difference between the two programs.
Auburn shouldn’t have fired Gus. But it has been been entertaining watching the calamity that has engulfed Auburn football since you did.

They fired one of the two best coaches ever chasing a unicorn who never showed up.
You won one NC with a generational player and a coach who was run off two years later. The Auburn coaching tree looks worse than the trees at Toomers Corner. Updike did a number on them like Bobby Lowder did on the Athletic Department.
Will Freeze be a winner? He will probably have a winning record when he is run off but not by much.
Auburn, Great school, athletic department not so much.

Ask Bill Curry. He was a very successful coach at bama. He couldn't beat Auburn and he got the pink slip.
Curry only coached in true Iron Bowls and one in Auburn, never coached vs AU in Tuscaloosa. You can thank Shula, Dubose, and Fran with a foot out the door for AU's record in T-town prior to Saban.

Seven of Auburn’s Iron Bowl victories were prior to 1907. From 1893-1902 Auburn was 6-1 against Alabama. The 1890’s were Auburn’s best decade.
Since 1948, Alabama leads 46-30. Freeze will win 30-40% of his games against Alabama, so the margin will continue to slowly grow.

Auburn fans seem to believe that Freeze is the first coach to ever recruit at Auburn. Malzhan was regularly pulling in the same type recruiting classes Freeze is. We know how that worked out. And Gus was a better coach with far less baggage than Freeze.

Everything you said is all irrelevant to the post I responded to and the point I was making but:
2015 - 278 #8
2014 - 277 #6
2020 - 276 #10
2016 - 275 #9
2019 - 272 #9
2013 - 267 #10
2018 - 262 #12
2017- 255 #9
2024 - 275 #10
2025 - 286 #5 (in August with more commits expected)
Gus did not bring in the type of class we have right now if Freeze keeps it together.
Hugh and Gus are on the same level in coaching ability. Tell me how his baggage is effecting anything right now?

You know Auburn is getting right when sidewalk gumps make posts like this, then pat each other on the back for shite that happened 35 years ago

Wrong as usual.
It takes some balls to come into the Rant every day, obsess over Auburn, and still be wrong about almost everything

Weagle just posted Malzhan’s recruiting rankings above. He had 6 top ten classes in a row. Seven of eight were top ten classes. That is right on par with what Freeze is doing.
Once you have a top ten class it is all about player development.
Auburn consistently does less with more than any other SEC school.

Auburn will lose to New Mexico but beat bama
Posted on 8/25/24 at 6:55 pm to Ancient Astronaut
One thing about Auburn you can count on is they are bipolar. Because they lost to New Mexico State last year, they will murder New Mexico this year. And because they coulda and shoulda beat Alabama last year, they will get boat raced in Bryant Denny this year by 3+ touchdowns.

So your argument is that the type of classes Bama and UGA have been pulling in under Saban/Kirby are the same as the classes Malzahn brought in?
